Hi there! I am a little confused. Are visible traits also passed down to babies, or only the carried ones? Trying to work out who is best to breed, etc. Thanks!

Sylesti traits work on Punnett Square genetics, so each trait has two letters, organised by trait Dominance (Most dominant is N (nothing), then A > B > C > etc down the alphabet- the more dominant letter is always the visible), and each one of those letters has a 50/50 chance of being the one passed on.

For a quick example
x
Male has
Gene One: (KK) Dapple
Mutation Two: (CF) Jingle Bell Collar (Hidden (F) Fae Dust)

Female has
Gene One: (HH) Wildcat
Mutation Two: (EE) Dryad Tail*

Offspring will all be HK (vis wildcat, hidden dapple) and 50/50 for either CE (vis Jingle collar from father, hidden dryad tail from mother) or EF (vis dryad tail from mother, hidden fae dust from father)

We go more in depth here

currently the only really available one is the exceptional test kit
(single-use test kits and gene scanners used to be a fairly common drop from festival wheels, but the wheels were retired, oop. They do often crop up as a gift on one of the days the advent calendar each, however)
However, many people who have the exceptional kit offer free testing services in the Groups, Guilds, Clubs, and Services subforum
