What are the chances of getting an essence from nurturing? Is there a specific probability, like a .00137% chance (random number), or a chance of 1 in 162 pets nurtured (random number)? Or is it just completely random?
What about for battles?

It is all completely random/. I have nurtured over 3000 eggs and gotten nothing. I have also gotten 3 essence from nurturing 1000 eggs. Once I got 2 essence within 10 eggs.
Battling is random too. I've gotten ess. Within a few battles from one another then gone a few hundred or more without ever seeing any.
