There's a forum here on the site that people use for giving away pets and other things, so I suggest looking there since there do seem to be some active forums for pet giveaways:

Just a little warning though, it's technically considered against the T.O.S to ask for things without offering any type of payment and is considered begging, so wording your post a little differently may be a good idea. ^^
This is the part of the T.O.S that I'm referring to:

G. You may not beg or ask for items, gold, diamonds or any type of asset from Staff or other players anywhere on the Site.

You can also use the Advanced Search to look for pets for sale, you can set the price range in the different options available:

Hey ! I saw you were warned for the TOS thing so i wont bother you with that but there is curently 96 pets in the advenced search listed for 10g or less witch is preaty much the same as given away since you cannot set a pet for less the 1g. You may want to take a look through the advenced search for those, who know you may find somthing you like in there ! ^-^
