What is this?
Why were ticket pieces capped at 3 per day of nurturing?
Why is nurturing actively being made worse in events?
This rewards players for not nurturing past 3 tickets. Nurturing is a good thing for pets? It's supposed to be at least slightly appealing, at least extrinsically? What point is there in making it worse to bother nurturing instead of doing literally anything else?

Fully agree. The tickets already have a pretty low chance of dropping (I've watched several people do the 800 daily nurtures and not get any), why cap it at 3? If people want to put in the time to grind for ticket pieces, what's the issue with letting them? It feels like it's discouraging nurturing entirely.

I don't even get why you would add a maximum limit to the tickets per day.
Even with doing the full 800 required nurtures (which is like 30 Minutes constant clicking) it doesn't give you a ticket snippet *with* the 20% increased chance.
The limit doesn't really need to be there given that the chances are still super low to even a piece.

Definitely agree. Since the event is LG limited, newer players and players that aren't able to fight all the elites and bosses in the LG don't really much other options to participate beyond the card game and nurturing (4/5 of the daily tasks REQUIRE the LG) and MAYBE (depending on unlocking LG, their team, and physical abilities to grind) spending hours on hours grinding easier enemies like spritelings that only "rarely" drop 1 ticket piece.
There doesn't really seem to be much of a reason for capping nurturing since it's not like every player is excessively nurturing to the point ticket pieces become too easy to get (especially since the drop rate was already low without the cap) and it really only punishes players that DO participate in events by nurturing and disincentivizes others from nurturing.

There was an issue where they were not dropping at all. This issue has been fixed.
Additionally, I then made the following changes:
Fixed an issue where [Piece of Lucky Pot Ticket] was not dropping from Nurturing. Additionally, adjusted the drop rates. Relative to last year's drop rate, the first 3 of each day will be 40%(was 20%) more common. After collecting your third of the day from Nurturing, the drop rate will revert to its 'normal' drop rate as used in previous Fortune Events. There will be a daily max limit of 5(was 3) rewarded via Nurturing. We will continue to monitor this new change and adjust accordingly.

Have to chime in: what is the purpose of a cap on the number of tickets that can be had from nurturing? Whether three or five, it seems pointlessly aimed at penalizing people for nurturing instead of engaging with the LG (whether by choice, or by virtue of not being far enough in the story). As someone who finds nurturing incredibly boring, the only reason I do it is to help my pets, or to gain some kind of reward from it (fest tokens mostly, because the drop rate of anything else is too low to make it worth my while). If I don't have that semi-regular burst of 'ooh~ I got something for doing this horribly boring chore', I'm not going to do it for long.
For those that feel about battling the way I do about nurturing, they are being punished, and severely, for preferring the little game that is nurturing. If I want, I can spend all day in the grove, wandering around and killing things, and having a decent chance at some random ticket piece drops. After the first thousand or so nurtures (assuming rng isn't being completely awful) you have your capped 5 pieces, and there's no more (event-related) reward to continuing. Why?
In the past, there has been the argument against making targeted nurturing through the Nurturing Grounds because it would discourage people from nurturing the lesser-loved species, but putting a hard cap like this on event rewards tied to nurturing makes it feel like nurturing isn't being valued anyway. And with fewer people around (I think the highest I've seen in region chat so far this event, over a weekend at that, was like 34?), there are far fewer people nurturing anyway. So... why not let people target nurture? At this point, I don't see how much difference it would make if most people aren't going to nurture beyond the reward cap/daily participation number anyway. Might even increase nurtures overall. Sad that lesser loved species probably will miss out, but no more than they probably already are.

Chiming in with an "I don't understand why there's a cap on the nurture tickets?" group also-
1. there isn't a cap on the battle pieces, and battles are infinite
2. there's the cap of how many egglings and hatchlings exist to be nurtured
3. battles have guaranteed ticket drops from bosses, and can get maps from certain ones
4. there's no guaranteed ticket drops from nurturing, only higher % chance for three of them, and no chance of maps
I feel like the people who want to get their pieces from nurture should be allowed to do so, really (I got just 1 piece in the 800 nurtures I did today, so it isn't like the higher rng % on the first three is making them extremely easy to get as far as I can tell, and most people can barely manage 800 as-is, if at all (or, I can barely manage, anyway, it's just really boring to me. People who are doing the good work for all of us patting pets but not liking battling shouldn't be put at this ticket-gaining disadvantage surely?))

At the time of writing this, only 12 people have hit the 5-limit cap for today. Just stating for reference of how many are potentially affected by this change.
The main reasoning for this change was that I felt Nurturing left a pretty big gap in where some players could use it to farm an exorbitant amount of ticket pieces as it had a very high ceiling before a player would run out of pets to Nurture and you could generally find them faster, and with less effort, compared to battling.
At the end of the day, Sylestia has to generate a certain amount of revenue. As time goes on, we keep expanding more and more ways to participate in Festivals/Events. Since the Lucky Pot was first added, we now have Lucky Draw, Secret Maps, and now Login Rewards and a new feature still coming. Yet, the intrinsic drop rate for ticket pieces hasn't really changed much over the years. After reviewing data from last year, I made some changes to balance things out some more to try and keep the rarity of ticket pieces at an acceptable level. The Lucky Pot is the big revenue generator for the Fortune Event and I have to keep up with changes as things evolve to make sure revenue is still coming into the game at a sufficient level.
The change (now max limit of 5 with a boosted drop chance for first 3) affects an extremely small percentage of our player base, but can go a long way of filling in a potential gap where hundreds of excess tickets hit the economy over the duration of the event. Additionally, in my opinion, I think the current change is actually an overall positive as it makes it easier for the average player to collect 3 (+1 from task) tickets per day from Nurturing when they otherwise probably would not have even bothered. I am seeing a lot of players hitting that 3/4 mark of tickets found per day, which is exactly what I was striving for. In total, 66 players collected 3 or 4 tickets from Nurturing today, compared to only 12 players who hit the cap of 5. That is precisely the data point I was striving for.

Just wondering what the data was like from years past? As far as I know, the majority of people hate nurturing. The fact that 12 people got 5 tickets from nurturing today doesn't really... matter? There's only 12 people capping out their tickets because uhh... why bother? For me unless my luck is good, I won't be nurturing to get 5 tickets a day. I hate nurturing. Right now there's no incentive to nurture for tickets with this cap, which kind of hurts nurturing overall I think. I'm just wondering... when that cap is not there how many people actually get over 5 ticket pieces a day?
Unrelated side note... it feels really bad to be at the end game right now. Not only are rates reduced in the forest/caves, but I can grind the temple all day and get nothing other than the guaranteed drops from a weekly run. Today, before doing a full temple run, I was in the crypt. I found an egg nest and never found a ticket piece. How are the rates so bad that I have better luck finding nests? I feel like temple-goers are being severely handicapped and new players can't even participate. If you're right in the middle of the content then you're at the sweet spot for this fest and that is just so backwards. What happened to having fest named pop up in the orchard or tranquility for the newer players? Why are you punished for being at end game? I'm going to be honest... even before beating the worm I could kill anything super easily, there's no difference. Plus people can EASILY buy primordial and have others upgrade for them. So even if you aren't in the temple yet, you do have access to the things from the temple and you can also absolutely destroy anything in the caves. So to say temple-goers have an unfair advantage in the forest/caves is just... wrong.
Yet again, same as WoL, I feel this is another mini fest where I'm not going to be able to collect the items I want because nobody is able to find them. I can't collect my beloved dress up items and I can't buy them off of the broker... and I have all the advantages in the game to get them. The drop rates for things are just so abysmal. Nothing feels rewarding. I keep playing because of the relationships I have on here and because I really enjoy the breeding mechanics. It would just be nice to actually be able to collect things.
Maybe a hot take but I'd rather have a smaller festival with maybe 5 avatar items to collect and maybe 1 new theme than have a month of fortune fest and have nothing drop but 50 avatar items to collect and have 2 new themes released and new games and and and... It feels like even with all the gold and access to funds and access to anything I need on the site to have an advantage doesn't even work to get what I want because the drop rates and ways of obtaining items I actually want are impossible.
