I didn't know this was a thing - not in the slightest. The description for the Philter only implies that it won't work properly with Bred pets (aka it won't work at all).



While this is a really specific scenario, it would've been nice to know this beforehand so I didn't have to try getting everything together for this pair. I was looking forward to my Certified Name parents, but now I can't.

You might be able to appeal to Krin to give the new unnamed pet a certified name again. Beyond that, not much you can do

Edit: support. When these philters came out there was no such thing as certified names. Now there is, maybe say on a phisher if it effects certified names

Luckily I didn't use the Philter before I saw that, so the Sylesti's fine, just not gender-swapped. But yeah, not much to do about it :,D

Alternatively, it'd be neat if it just didn't get rid of the name. I don't think it's important that certified names stay gender-specific after hatching, there's no real point to it as far as I can tell. They generally sound pretty neutral anyway.

For example, the male Sylesti I was trying to use this on had a name that's related to a female in legends. I'm guessing Certified Names are just generated by pulling randomly from at least two if not three lists. :P
