Waking up in the motel, Mara looked out the window and saw the city of Yue in the early morning. Yawning Mara started to fix her hair in a messy ponytail with her ribbon. Finishing her yawn and hair Mara saw someone across the way opening up their shop. Looking back into the room Mara sighed at her alligator companion named "Crunch". "I guess it's a new day, I hope there are some good commissions today." Mara said in a soft but gruff voice. Mara started to put on her armour, shining the metal before putting each piece on. Finishing and putting her hammer on her back, Mara looked at Crunch and said "Let's get some breakfast before we head out.

Niki
Standing outside the guild, leaning against one of the walls was Niki. He was waiting for Mara, the only other person in his adventure team. Well, other than that damn gator. He took a bite out of the crisp green apple that he had stolen from a small orchard earlier in the morning. He stared at the entrance of the motel across the street, huffing annoyedly. What was taking her so damn long? They had money to earn.

Coming out of the motel Mara wiped a bit of syrup from her mouth. She had a smile on her face as she saw the half-elf Niki with his bright hair. Looking at Crunch, Mara said "Let's go meet up with Niki and see what we can get at the guild, okay." Moving across the street Mara finally reach Niki and apologized about being late. "You ready?"

Niki nodded, taking another big crunch of his apple, his sharp canines leaving the bite marks shaped oddly. Juice beaded up at the corner of his mouth, and he tucks his hair behind his ear, glancing around. Then, he walks into the dimly-lit guild room. Even though it was bright early morning, the foggy windows prevented much light from getting in, leaving the place constantly feeling cozy, which he supposed worked well, cause the place doubled as an inn for traveling adventurers who couldn't afford the nicer inn across the street. It was bustling with life, guilds sitting around tables and waiting. As the pair walked in, Kathryne, the desk lady who never seemed to take a day off, wheeled in the board with the easier commissions. Niki darted over to see if he could find one worth a decent amount of gold. Kathryne ducked out of the way and went back to her desk
As he was looking, at the front of the pack of noisy adventurers, he turned slightly to Mara and shouted "Go talk to Kathryne! See if she has anything worth more gold we can grab!" he said, before slapping the hand of another adventurer away from the commission he was going for.
Generally, people played nice, but Niki couldn't be bothered to give a crap. Also, seeing as he and Mara were two of the much more well-known adventurers in the area, people tended to let them have the more difficult commissions.
Niki victoriously grabbed a commission for returning some cats to a nobleman worth way too much gold, and went and sat down to wait for Mara.

Looking back at Niki, Mara agreeded and nodded walking over to Kathryne. Moving with purpose Mara bent over Kathryne's desk and smirked with her bottom tusks pointing out. "What have you got for any good commissions? Max gold would be ideal." Looking at a few papers and scrolls on her desk Kathryne said "ummm....let me look here...ah! It's a retrieval mission I think." Mara took the scroll from Kathryne. Looking at the scroll in her hand, Mara
peeked at the crowd in front of the commission board it looked to be thinning out and in some of the people Mara saw Niki's hair stand out in the crowd. Making her way over to him, Mara just brushed a few people away to clear a path. It didn't take long to get to him, Mara tapped Niki on the shoulder when she got to him and smirked showing the scroll in her hand.

Niki gave an equally cocky grin back to his best - and probably only - friend.
"I found an easy one worth a hefty chunk of gold" they said. "Just tracking down two lost cats," he elaborated. Someone walked by the pair and tugged at the ribbon holding Niki's hair in a bun. The simple knot slipped out, and Niki's silky hair tumbled down his shoulders and back. He spins quickly to slap whomever it was, they've already moved on. He clicks his tonged and picks up the ribbon that now lays on the floor. His hair was the topic of much discussion within the guild, so this was unfortunately a common happening. He quickly tied his hair up in a ponytail before turning back to Mara.
"So, we can do this one and then whatever you got. What quest did you get, by the way?" he asks, peering over the edge of the paper and attempting to read the words upside-down while brushing some wispy escaped hairs behind his ear.

"That sounds good, now let's see this one." Looking from Niki to the scroll and fully unfolding the scroll in her hands it read. ".....Mhrn...mm..." Mara needed to clear her throat first to start reading aloud. "TO ALL ADVENTURING GUILDS. I lord Priseusus have a quest to those brave and strong enough. There's an ancient power scroll supposedly in some ruins just an hour north of Yue and Theus. I NEED a group from the best Guild to retrive said scroll and bring it back to a wizard in a small town south of the Sothern cardinal city, Notos (the smaller town being called Notos lesser). I'm afraid that the reward would be funding for the guild...." Mara looked at Niki with wide eyes and turned the scroll towards him. ".....100000 gold....as an added bonus."
