"What happened?"

"Let's just say it's the reason I'm an outcast."

She tilts her head, confused.

"People are superstitious and it doesn't help that society will sometimes a treat a person who is slightly different like a threat or undesirable. When I stepped into the fairy circle all of my friends abandoned me because they thought I was cursed."

"I've never heard of anything like that." She gazes at her curiously.

Chelsea frowns, "You aren't from this town or care about myths and legends that are important to it. Getting cursed by a fairy circle or even stepping in one in this town results in immediate and brutal social punishment. That's why I study the lore and myths so deeply because I know there is more out there. I also want to break the curse."

"What curse?"

Chelsea looks around for anyone who might be nearby. Thankfully no one is there. Chelsea focuses hard and opens her hand revealing a small glowing green flame.
"I'm a witch."

She blinks, then smiles. She brushes some hair aside, and some strange strands stick up. After a short moment, it's easy to tell they're not actually hairs- they're insect antenna, beaded like a beetle's. "I suppose we're both 'cursed', then."

"I had a feeling you were hiding something. I promise I won't tell anyone," Chelsea smiles, "I'm just glad to know that I'm not alone."
