I'm a bit confused with nurturing and scales. Sometimes when I nurture a pet, the nurture count on its page doesn't go up, sometimes when I nurture other pets on the nurture search it says they are upset. I'm not even sure how I got my 6 scales. Can someone explain please?

when you nurture a pet you have to pick the right option or it does not count. For example, If it says the pet is derpy then you need to reed it a book, slow-race with it, weak-work out with it, and so on.
