When I send someone a friend request and they accept it, we don't just then become friends. Instead, I receive a friend request back from them, which I have to accept. And once I go to inbox and accept it and then go on to other pages on the website, 'social' (and 'inbox' under that category) still shows orange, telling me I still have some kind of notification there. To get rid of it, I have to go to my inbox a second time, where I see that there's nothing there because I've already accepted the friend request. After that, it's not orange anymore. That second part with 'inbox' being orange when it shouldn't be also happens if someone else sent me a friend request, but the first part is only an issue when I'm the one who sent the request to someone else.

Yes, this happens to me, too. I have to accept their friend request back in order for us to become Friends.

Yea. Friend requests atm are one way. Whenever I redesign the whole social network / friend system, this will change. But at this point, this is working as intended. Basically, if you want the person on your list, you have to send the request and then they have to accept it.

In case I didn't explain well the first time, when someone sends me a friend request, 'social' and 'inbox' light up orange to tell me I have a notification. Then I go into 'inbox' and accept the request, and there are no more notifications. But now, if I continue to explore the site, the second I leave 'inbox', 'inbox' and 'social' light up orange again telling me I have a second notification. They stay orange even if I reload the page or go to another page. In order to get rid of the notification, I have to go back to 'inbox' a second time, even though I've already accepted the friend request. When I go back there, even though it was lit up orange, it says there's nothing new there, no notifications. But now that I've looked at this second supposed notification that didn't actually exist, 'social' and 'inbox' finally stop being orange.

Yea... there isn't much I can do about that either. The whole social network/friend system is one of the original systems on the site. The architecture is EXTREMELY old lol. Basically, the way it works is that when you physically load the social network page, it resets those notifications. However, accepting a friend request doesn't reload the page.

I took a brief look at the code, and to be honest, I can't even see where it's handling the highlighting part lol. So unfortunately, this too, probably isn't going to be fixed until the system is rebuilt.
