So I was fighting the earth monster thing in T3.
Right at the start I use my 5 skills.
My tank was stunned on the first turn. (Seriously? I hate this. I can't even block to avoid the stun because no mana at the start.)
It did not get to use it's 5 skill.
It's 5 skill was still put on cooldown anyway.
My party died.
If I don't get to USE the skill, if it's affect ISN'T activated, then it shouldn't be on cooldown.
And it isn't just this fight - in any fight where a party member can be stunned it ALWAYS puts the skill on cooldown even if the skill isn't executed.

Agreed. It's annoying enough when it's a move with a short cooldown, but it's extremely punishing with the 5th move and its very long cooldown >.<

This should not be happening. If a Pet doesn't use a skill, it shouldn't go on cooldown.
And from what I can tell in the code, it's coded that way. So I am not sure why this is happening.
Next time this happens, can you snap a screenshot of your Pet's buffs and the battle log for that turn and post it back into here for me?

Will try but it's kind of an RNG tossup with the boss, and this go around it finally didn't stun me round 1 so I was able to kill it. Think I died to it 3 times this week because it kept stunning on the first round when there's literally nothing I can do because of the mana reset. :')
Monday is a long way away but I'm sure I'll die a few times...
I've also had this happen when an enemy dies from bleeds and fire damage debuffs, but I still use Decimate just in case. Turn starts, enemy dies of only bleed/fire damage debuffs, battle is over, and Decimate is still on cooldown with the following battle despite never being used.
An example for that:
Killed right Ent
It died to bleed damage before any moves were executed. But Decimate had been selected for use.
(Because I'm sadistic and want to see how far the overkill can go while punching these poor, innocent trees, but the bleeds and burns kill them first so I don't get to Decimate them into sawdust XD)
Made it to left Ent without any battles in between.
Begins battle with Decimate on cooldown, despite it never actually being used because the previous battle ended to bleed debuffs.
(Edit: I realized after the fact that I failed to get the time for the first go around; in case it's needed I've already got another set of these for Eleane and then the 2nd Nightfall captain dude to prove the time between individual battles, but I'm lazy when stuck on mobile and I'm going to assume you'll take my word on it since I've been a big magnet for years now, lol )

The latter issue actually is designed to work that way. But I do agree, it's a bad design lol. It just is not at all something easy to change. But that is how the code is written to work. If you successfully "use" an ability, even on a 'dead' enemy, the ability will still count as being used.
I am sure when I redesign the system for the future, I will handle this scenario better. But for now, it isn't really worth the headache of trying to recode.

So an unrelated issue there. I was hoping it'd be similar to pinpoint the issue ^^;
I'll sacrifice my team to the earth golem next week until RNG throws me the same scenario so I can screenshot it. :')
(Or if I can remember not to trash one of the ents, maybe I can force that stun into the same scenario. Long as the pet doesn't dodge it might work unless it's just a temple earth construct only thing...)

I do not know if this info will help, but I have done my own testing to try and reproduce this bug with different enemies, using a very low speed pet up front. I have not succeeded.
After being stunned by nightfall brigands, the bug did not happen. Any attack I chose did not activate or require cooldown, and my stunned pet's moves were all available after he recovered. I tried this with 6 different nightfall brigands, with the same outcome every time.
After ancient Ent stuns, the bug did not happen either. I tried with 2 Ents and then Oakstout, multiple times in each battle. No cooldown occurred.
This bug might be exclusive to that earth boss in the temple.
