Alina looked in the mirror, admiring her ranger uniform with a sense of pride. She used her goggles to hold her bangs out of her face and adjusted her scarf nervously one more time before she turned to her Trapinch.
*Hey bud, todays the day. Were gonna be going in our first real mission today* She smiled, petting the ground types head and giving her a treat before opening the door to head out.
Today was Alinas first real assignment as an official ranger. Sure she had gone on study missions and training exercises to train with more experienced rangers, but now that she was a fully fledged ranger, she would be going with another ranger as an equal partner.
In her excitement, Alina had arrived early to the headquarters, where Captain Cecilia was already waiting.
*Alina. Congratulations on becoming a certified ranger. I will disclose the mission once your partner arrives*

Cecilia gave a polite smile to Nivia. *Nivia, perfect timing, Id like you to meet Alina, shes going to be your partner for this mission.* Cecilia explained.
*Its wonderful to meet you* Alina smiled, her Trapinch happily clicking its large maw in greeting.
After the rangers finished their greetings, Cecilia went on to explain the mission.
*this mission isnt a very big one, so the two of you should be enough to handle it. We have received multiple reports about a small pack of gible thats been causing some trouble for a small town in the Sinnoh region. Your job is to return to gible back to their natural habitat and if possible; find out what caused the gible to start attacking the town. Any questions?* Cecilia waited for the rangers response

Trapinch smiled at the new person, having to tilt its head to see them due to the shape of its head.
*No questions from me either, ma am Alina said.
*Good, then you two can take the transport staraptor once youre ready to depart.* Cecilia dismissed the two.
Staraptor was one of the most common types of transport for rangers, especially to far off places where air travel is the best means of transport.
*I think Im ready to go, what about you?* Alina asked. She nervously fidgeted with the end of her scarf, anxious about doing well on her first mission and hoping she wouldnt make any mistakes in front of the more experienced ranger
(I appreciate that thank you ^u^)

* Yep! And no need to be nervous, we all start from square one at some point. * They gave a comforting smile. Standing up, They fixed their hair * Come on. Ill show you where the Staraptor is! *
Ninetails stood, walking along with Nivia. Its tails swishing with every movement.
* Were we are! * Nivia stood in front of the Staraptor * So have you ever flew on one of these before? *

*Ah, right, thanks, sorry, its just first mission jitters* Alina chuckled.
Alina followed after Nivia, eventually having to pick up her Trapinch so it wouldnt fall behind due to its short legs.
Alina smiled seeing all of the staraptor in their roost. The ranger headquarters certainly had no shortage of them. *Dont worry, Im pretty good with riding them, we did a lot of practice in training plus, Im actually from the sinnoh region, I was practically raised around staraptor, theyre oddly comforting to me* Alina grinned.
*Ah, you two must be Nivia and Alina! Ive prepared your two staraptor for the journey, you can find Razor and King at the landing* a young man called over to them. His name was Kurtis, and he had been working at the hanger only a few months more than Nivia had been an official ranger, but he was still very good at what he did.

Alina went to check out the staraptor. Even though she had trained with them, she never saw them fully geared up. Each staraptor had a unique bandana around one leg and a call whistle attached so the ranger riding it could call the staraptor when they were ready to return to base.
*Hey, Nivia, which staraptor would you prefer? Youve been around them longer than me so I figured its better for you to get first pick familiarity and all that* Alina offered, standing slightly out of the way of the two large bird Pokmon
(Sorry Im dumping a ton of fluff info Im just tryna do some worldbuilding as we go)

(Its fine! Its alot better compared to my works.)
She walk over, standing next to Alina. They admired the pokemon like she does with any pokemon they meet. She pointed over to the Staraptor on the left
*I dobt mind, as long as it get the job done. I personally don't see much of a difference anyways. * they said putting a hand on their hip.
