Im curious can you play a game meant for a new Nintendo ds on a regular 2ds? Or do you need the specific new Nintendo 3ds?

I know certain games you can still play them on the 2Ds, like Pokemon for example. I assume its the same with any game, you'll just have to test it out.

The game card for Minecraft? I know its available on the new Nintendo 3ds. And I do have a site Im planning on buying it from.

No, it looks like Minecraft is only available on the new versions of the 3DS and 2DS.
