I recently got a new laptop and when using it for battling in the Lost Grove, there's a pretty big lag time (about 2-3 seconds) between choosing an attack and selecting an enemy. This lag time only happens when selecting an enemy, however - moving has no lag. There is also only lag if I use a 1, 2, 3, and 4 to select attacks.

I've tried three different browsers. The laptop is a new Apple laptop.

Hm - I am not quite sure what would cause this. Utilizing hotkeys is purely a client-side action as it's done with scripting. So the lag is happening on your end via either something with the device itself or the browser. Since you tried multiple browsers, seems like something with the device itself.

That said, I have no idea what it could be. This is the first time I've heard of such an issue in the many years we've had the hotkey scripting available for battling. I also have no way of reproducing this issue on my end so I am not sure what I would even be testing.

Can you provide me with your device model and operating system version? I can attempt to see if the internet has any information on this issue.

Forgive me if my answers are not the answers you were looking for.

As far as operating system, under Overview it says macOS Big Sur, version 11.4. The device is a refurbished 2017 MacBook Air.

On second thought, it may be a Windows Bootcamp issue, as I also have that installed.

Are you able to test this issue with or without Bootcamp? I am not familiar with how easy it would be to do such.

It's quite easy, but the lag comes from both Bootcamp and MacOS.

Thanks for your help, by the way.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what else I could suggest or look into. =\

I tried searching around, but couldn't find anything relevant to the situation.

If you happen to figure out more information that might help me in diagnosing the issue, just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

A little bit of update on this.

The issue doesn't seem to be with the hotkeys - movement is unaffected, and using 1/2/3/4 to select moves works instantly - selecting the enemy (even if there is only one enemy) is the part that lags.

However, a weird inconsistency - it is related to the hotkeys somehow. Clicking an attack manually then clicking an enemy removes the lag time entirely.

If this doesn't help, you don't have to respond - I was wondering if this fact might help it make sense.

Just for clarification, is it as such where you can press "1" one single time and nothing happens for a few seconds and then it finally reacts? Or are you pressing "1" repeatedly over the course of a few seconds until it finally reacts?

I can't get a screenshot and upload it at the moment, let me know if that would help.

I press "1" and it immediately selects the correct attack, no delay.

I click on the enemy, but it doesn't select. Even if I wait, the click never goes through. After about 2 seconds, I can click the enemy and select it as normal.

No hotkeys are affected, just a weird delay if attacking hotkeys are used.
