Tess Leclosa was on her daily run when she came to the two fighting. She recognized Velv as someone in her town and the girl as a shadow runner. She crouched behind bushes.

Time un-paused as Velv crashed the mace into her head. It wasn't enough to kill her, but it would severely hurt her. She bounced back, her scythe fading back into her arm bands as she ran off.

The girl let out a high pitched scream, high enough to shatter glass, and she fell backwards.

Tess, used to the scream, called out to Velv. "Bad move. Hurt one, hurt all. You definately don't want the shadow runners after you." Tess walked to the girl and picked her up. "Welp, im going to hell anyways.

"Nice to see an old friend. Yeah, Tess. Shadow runners are dangerous- they use black magic to lure people in only to kill them in the end. Yet, this one," She gestured torwards the little girl in her arms. "was too young. Probably their first run."

"D-did I kill her..?" Velv soon realized what she had done. Why wouldn't she be dead? I crashed a mace onto her head!

Used to this as a medic in training, Tess pulled on her gloves and touched the injured part of her head. "No, but she's in critical condition."
