You could almost see the gears turning in her mind as the girl though of somthing to say. "I wanted to avoid people, hadn't heard you in here... " While she wasnt lying, it was also fairly obvious that she was picking the words she was saying very carefully.
Outside, the voices hadnt lost anything in volume somthing the strange girl seemed feeling guilty about. With a slight sigh she took a step back from the window, giving up on opening the thing for now, tho remained with her back turned toward you and her face now once more hiden from vew.

I sighed sitting back down on the couch 'Don't break anything.' I say cautiously looking at the girl again.
It seemed as if the exitation had slowly died down outside, leading to one of those rares moments where the silence was truely present outside. You could still heard blurb of various tv shows playing a bit too loud in the background but for the most part the calm had settled it's grasp in the vicinity.
Tho this was interrupted soon enough by the upstair residents who had decided to, yet again, share their marital problem with the whole world. And, of course, just like this morning, a loud bang comming directly from inside the sealing interrupted them, this time however, it was only for a short period of time before they resumed their vocalises.
Staring at the book wasn't helping me, so annoyingly I decided to get up, take the one that was closest to me and sit with my back to the bookcase. I could read a bit to relax, I had slept long enough anyway - from what I could tell from the position of the sun - and the stress had sapped my hunger, so I had nothing better to do.
I was so immersed in the novel of a futuristic world in which the main character was increasingly entangled in misunderstandings that pointed to him as a criminal of the worst - But it was not like that! -, that I did not notice until this moment the silence that reigned inside and outside my apartment.
I lowered the book onto my lap and looked around with new eyes, feeling a peace I didn't know I needed. I could tell it was almost magical.
Or well, that was until the neighbors above began to yell at each other again, like every day since I've lived in this apartment. I was very tempted to do the same as the neighbor below to try to silence them; stress creeping up my temple. But I'm so comfortable, I thought, looking at the broom there, quite far from me.
The loud bang on the ceiling made my whole body jump, the book flew somewhere while I covered my mouth to keep from screaming, my eyes wide open on the ceiling. There was a moment of silence where I could hear my pulse in my ears, my heart wanting to leave my chest painfully and my breathing labored. Is he? No, no, this time it sure is an animal. It can't be him, please, don't let it be...
And then, almost like a chorus of angels, the neighbors began to shout at each other again. A couple of tears came to my eyes, for the first time feeling relieved to hear them say the worst insults to each other.
I quickly got to my feet, running to my room terribly scared. I closed the door behind me, careful not to make a noise, and clicked the latch. I ran to my bed and buried myself under the coverlet, tucking the pillows around me like a fort. There I settled down, without the courage to pull a single hair out of my hiding place. You are safe, the apartment is totally closed. The door, the windows, the room are closed. Everything will be fine, everything is fine.

"W-what... ? You are not mad that i entered your territory?" Beneth her accent, the girl's voice was laced with wories and curiosity as she slowly turned toward you. She seemed to have forgot about hiding her eyes as she observed you, despite looking like two black holes beneth her eyelids they were surprisingly expressives as they seemed to analyse your form for any signes of hostility.
Outside, the sound of somthing shatering brought the screeming match to a more acceptable volume causing your guest to cringe. " I guess i'll be here for a while then..."

Now that you were in your room, the screeming match was a bit muffled, quieter. The noise in your sealing had stopped, for now, tho whatever it was clearly shared your anoyance with the loud-mouths upstairs. From time to time you could hear the creeking of your floorboard and at some point you though you had heard the front door ratteling slightly followed by a soft sliding sound, like a small object sliding across the floor.
There was no more interruptions afterward, if the guy from the bathroom was also the thing in your sealing, he hadnt tryed to get to you. Weather it was because of the baricade or just because he didnt felt like it was still up for debate tho.

I shook my head silently and looked toward the door. 'Wow, guess someone broke somethin' out there.'

(would it be possible to make your reply at least 3 ligns longs for the futur ?)
The girl made a noise of acknowledgement at this statement. " One of them kicked the potted plant ... preaty sure the pot isnt the only thing they broke..." Her tone of voice sounded rather guilty as she relplied. Slowly she pulled her attention away from whatever was outside, letting her eyes wander around the room, observing the decort of your appartment.
She eventualy started to move again, gliding across the floor to take a peak of various objects in the room. While she went a bit closer, she also seemed to avoid being too close of anything she deemed fragile, witch was about the same as staying several feets away from everything.
On a plate laying directly on the floor in the center of your appartment was what looked like an animal leg. Whoever had done so did an alright job at cleaning up the meat, preventing you from having to deal with a bloody mess on top of that whole situation, however it also meant that you coudnt quite figure out what the animal was. The hoof still on the piece of meat did offer a few clues but without the skin, it was getting difficult to get more information on it.
Asside from the obvious adition to your living space, the door was still unlocked, suggessing that whoever had came in still had a key to your appartment. However, as on cue, your upstare neighbours started their daily screeming match for meaningless things, this time it was because the wife had forgot to shot off the light in the bathroom.
(reminder ping, just to make sure it wasnt lost after all Krin's anouncement of the last few days !)

Mercedes didn't really pay much attention, she was up pretty much all night. Nearly.
She was mildly worried about the open door, but, not too much. (:P)

As the couple keept vocalising on the floor above, the others habitants of the building started to join the background chorus with their own morning routine. The woodcarving guy had started it's saw, adding the sweet sent of maple wood to the whole floor as childreens started their loud yet playfull screeching to the voices of their parents. A few dogs barked from one of the unit witch was new, you didnt know any of those people enough to know if those would be a permanant adition to the morning rhytme of the appartment but the furballs sure sounded adament about making themself known.
This was followed by somthing else you coudnt quite identify, a soft yet high pitched hiss from somwhere in the hallway. It didnt sounded like a cat at all and had a bit of a melodic ring to it as it ended, almost like a chirping sound.
