Kwana whinnied a yes to the girl. She seemed nicer than the other one. She looked at Histu as if saying if she could go to the back with the others. She nuzzled Hitsu also because she knew she couldn't see. Her human nodded yes. Kwana walked to the back and nuzzled the young fillies and swished her tail in greeting at the other mare happily.


Hitsu nodded to let Kwana go with the others. "You Wilder Rider too?" She said. Her hand was touching the reed pipe flute thing she had for a long long time. Her hand traced up to the brand on her back and sighed sadly. "You are good to be young and not know." She said.

( I won't worry about making a man, Niyol prefers to be alone. He's a loner.)

Niyol lead Hitsu to the cave where the other girl was. He remained on Yiska's back while silently listening to them talk to one another. Women..all they do is talk talk talk. He thought to himself as he watched Hitsu and Chris talking with one another. The horses were still in the back of the cave, he wondered why Chris hadn't finished off the demon filly. His brow frayed in frustration. Didn't she know
what those demon horses do? They kill therefore they must be killed. The young man looked toward Violetina as she approached on her horse. "I wasn't following you therefore I didn't leave you." He growled in English. Then repeated it in his native tongue so that Hitsu would understand what he was saying. Thankfully the ladies and the mares seemed to be getting along, so Niyol turned Yiska away from the cave, lightly touching his heels to the stallions barrel. After a few yards he gave the command to stop, then looked back at the cave and the girls.

Yiska flicked his ears about and nickered a greeting the mares and fillies. A sudden odd feeling washed over him. His head rose high, his banner lifted and he started pawing at the ground. Nostrils flared out as he scented the air. Three mares..three mares..all together..no other stallion about. Memories of a herd life flashed in his mind. Mares..young ones. Yiska went into protective mood quickly. He began looking around, scanning the plains for other stallions, trumpeting out a challenge to any that might be within ear shot. Yiska was so busy going into lead stallion mood that he almost missed the touch of heels. He snorted and side stepped, thinking of ignoring the command but gave in to it in the end. He turned away from the cave and went a few yards before stopping. Once more he pawed at the ground and stood like a proud stallion.

Hitsu sighed. She walked over to the whinnies. Then, she heard Yiska stamping his hooves. Her horse Kwana looked at the proud Yiska confused. Can't wait to get order around here. She thought. Her horse nudged her towards something. Her hand bumped into something. The thing whinnied angrily.

"Don't touch her!" Yelled Chris. "S-she's a demon horse!" She said. Powder stood in front of her sister defensively. Domino nickered softly. She had closed her glowing eyes shut. She backed away from her sister. Her spot blended into the shadows at the back of the cave. Another pair of red eyes appeared. Domino gave a frightened whinny. "Demon!" Yelled Chris.

( you know horses understand these things..even tame ones..lol )

Niyol heard Chris shout and kicked Yiska into action. The stallion reared up and trumpeted a challenge toward the caves. Upon land he galloped back to the cave. Niyol, wiped out his Bow and arrows and jumped off Yiska as he slid to a stop in front of the cave. "Everyone out!" He shouted as he nuked an arrow. "NOW!" He shouted again. Moving toward the back of the cave, he growled, sounding like a wolf, pulling back the arrow. "You and me, Demon Spawn." He hissed at the black shadow horse.

Yiska nickered to the mares and fillies to get out of the cave and behind him. He snorted, shaking his head up and down, pawing at the ground, ready for a fight.

Powder stood frozen in fear next to her sister. Domino grew larger. Powder reared and rsn to the front of the cave and out. Chris stared at Domino. "I hate to say this, but she's got to die." She said. Tears were threatening to spill out. She mounted Crystal and walked out. Powder was running wildly. Chris got off Crystal and began chasing the wild filly. "Get back here!" She shouted.
...

Hitsu felt for the filly named Domino. She found the now bigger filly. Domino's spot had begun to get larger. "She'll have a quick death." She said and got out a poisonous thorn. She held it up to Domino and stabbed it into the filly's pelt. She got up and mounted Kwana and ran out.

Niyol growled at Hitsu for not leaving the cave. Poison? They didn't have time for poison. He shot his arrow straight into the filly's heart. She dropped quickly. He yanked out his arrow, then faced the demon horse. "Your next." He said in his native tongue. Instead of using an arrow on the larger one, he drew out his knife after laying the bow and arrows down on the cave floor. "Come on you!" His voice low and full of danger.

Yiska saw the filly running around scared. He nickered to her and cut her off. Stopping right in front of her, then lowered his muzzle down to softly nip at her shoulder to let her know he would protect her.

Powder gazed at Yiska with wide eyes. She whinnied with fright. She nudged him. Her ears perked up as he heard Niyol shout. She sensed death.

Hitsu ran out with Kwana. "Dead. The filly is dead." She announced. She heard the filly's sister. She took out her reed pipe. She started with a high note and slowly went down to low and higher again. It sounded soothing, but the little thing was still afraid. She went to the low notes again.

Chris stared at the woman who was playing. She listened the notes flow out. She smiled sadly. No music could fix a mess like this. But the music made her calm. Crystal even stopped looking so frightful. Crystsl trotted to her daughter and Yiska. Her other daughter was dead.

Yiska nuzzled the filly gently once more, giving her courage to stand strong. A soft whinny escaped his muzzle as he looked at the other horses. He looked toward Kwana and her rider. Something told him that the other filly was gone. His ears perked at Niyol's yelling and he remembered there was another being in the cave. Yiska nudged the filly toward her mother, then trotted closer to the cave, imposing himself between it and the mares.

Sounds of screaming and fighting emerged from the cave. It seemed to go on for ages but at last Niyol came out. He was holding his side and limped a little. There was even a cut on his shoulder, like a bite. Out in the open he dropped to his knees, looking like he was going to be sick. "It's done..it's gone." He whispered before falling over in a groan.

Chris stared at the man. He had been bit. "You've been bit!" She yelled and ran to him. 3 days to live. She gulped. She had been holding back a secret too long. She had found a way to save humans, but not horses. But she didn't want to think about that. She only knew one way to save a human. Burn it. He had 3 days. "I know a cure for humans." She croaked out. "Burning." She said. If he was burnt, the soul would be forced out. She had discovered this a couple months back. She had tried it on a horse, but failed and the horse died. The human's body would be resistant to fire.

Powder nuzzled her mother in search of milk. She stopped as the man limped out and trotted to him. She nuzzled him with concern in her eyes. She smelled death in the air. She looked for her sister and trotted over to Yiska with question.

Jay clung onto Johani's mane with his right hand tightly. "Whoa, boy, whoa!" He yelled and laughed. Jo tried bucking him off, as usual. His left hand was waving his cowboy hat. Johani finally started galloping. He slowed at the sight of a cave and other people. A man was on the ground while 3 mares stood together. "What in tarnation?" He muttered. He told Johani to go forward.
Johani went forward. He eagerly went on when he saw the mares, but his eagerness died away as he sensed bad stuff. He tossed his mane nervously.
"Well, look at that, mate." Jay said and pointed to the man. "Musta been a fight 'r somein'"
