Ethan looked at Henri. "I guess I'll help make a fire," he said. He placed his math textbook and pointy stick down and gathered some of the surrounding twigs and sticks for a fire. He placed them kinda half-haphazardly in a pile. "Isn't there a way to make a fire without using a match? Like, two ways? Three? Rubbing sticks together, flint and stone, and magnifying the sun with someone's glasses? I don't want to waste our small amount of matches." There were clearly not enough sticks in the pile, so he grabbed some more that were around him.

"That's right," Henri grinned as they moved farther away from the camp to get sticks. "It takes a long time but these sticks are dry enough to try to make a bow for the firestarter. We can save the matches for when we really need them. Though, it might be good to test them now so we know if they work later? If the box has gotten wet, it's probably better as tinder." Sighing, Henri sat down their pile of sticks. "Should we go further out so we have enough to last the night?"

"We probably should," said Ethan. With his sharp stick and math textbook in one arm, he went out a little ways to collect more sticks and twigs. He didn't grab any with leaves.

Henri trailed after Ethan, collecting their own sticks. "Hey, wait up. You shouldn't wander too far alone. Anyway, isn't it hard to do anything still carrying that book? I'm sure if you left it by the others, it would be fine. I mean, it's just a math book..." They grimaced at the mention. It had never been Henri's best subject and they would hate to see Ethan alienated because of carrying around something so weird.

He glared at Henri. "Hey, that's a brilliant idea," Ethan said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Gee, I wonder why I didn't think of that. Maybe it's my minor fear of my math book getting burned to ashes." He sighed. "I know you have good intentions, but this book is my life." He continued to pick up sticks.

"Seriously? An ice breaker? You know what, whatever. What have I got to loose. I'm Zeth, but Azriel, you can call me 'anytime.' "
She took a moment to laugh at herself, then continuing on in a more serious tone.
"Couldn't resist. Anyway, you guys can call me Zeth. I dye my hair on a regular basis and do martial arts regularly. In fact, I had a tournament tonight before all of this happened."
