Update Post:
First, the 4 finalists have been decided, in this post. (so votes have finished)
Over the past couple of days, I have been trying to think of how to go forward. There has been less interest than I first imagined, and dyes are much rarer than I thought when I set this competition up (when the free advent calendar dyes were handed out). So I just don't think the competition will work the way I had planned, even split into two parts.
However, I don't think it's nice to end a competition after starting it!
So, with IvyCat's or Lightningstorm's (the two finalists) permission to use the chosen design in the future, I am thinking of going ahead like this:
1) I simply choose my favorite out of the 4 finalists.
2) I completely dye the the winner with lessor dyes (with greater only for really "off" or difficult colors)
3) People who like the design can still trade a greater dye for an offsping if they like.
4) Instead of just this competition, I can sell offspring of the design in the future.
I think this is fair, and lets the competion go ahead, allows me to celebrate finishing my first max stat, and gives the winning designer a free max pet! :D

I'm fine with it, however if you pick the design I made that is really making me cry because of the colours not working personally, can you let me play around with it again?
