As I desperately nosed the limp body I thought of what would happen to the cub. Saddened, I walked over to the cub stopping a short distance away. "She won't come back, cub. She's gone, dead." Coming closer, I nosed the little Cubs fur. "Don't be sad, she's still her, protecting you. You just can't see her." My voice was gentle, and sad. Suddenly, anger surged through me, and my muscles tensed. Who did this!!! I thought angrily. They left a defenceless Cubs mother dead. Another thought came to me.We can't leave her here alone, she'll die. My eyes met the Cubs. "If you join our group, we'll protect you. And we can help you avenge your mother. The poor cub needed food too. Whoever did this will pay.

The cub stared at his limp mother, tears in his eyes. He sobbed. He sobbed into her fur. "Why?! Mother?!" he cried.

"It's alright cub. We won't hurt you. Not all Lighra's are bad." My tone of voice was gentle and soothing. "We're trying to help you, ok?" Slowly I looked back at the group and flicked my tail. To the cub, it would just look like a random gesture. But to them, it was a signal to go right outside the cave. I had to talk with them. "Wait here," I told him, as I padded just outside the entrance.
