Kestrel climbed the stairs to her dorm room. She was exicited but rather nervous as everyone else seemed to be. Her pet raven, Shadowwing, was perched on her shoulder and her jaguar, Suna, prowled beside her. She searched the numbers on the door until she found hers. Turning the key she stepped in. Closing the door behind her, she chose a bed and started to unpack. When she was done, She pulled out a book and read to ease her nerves. Soon she was immersed in the tale of witches and centaurs. Suna curled up at her feet and Shadowwing perched on the bedpost. Eventually she fell asleep with the book on the bed beside her.

Sarah got: a grapefruit because she thought the rest of the food was to fatning.

Cole walked to his dorm. Night his crow friend perched on his shoulder , he took the unclaimed bed in a dark corner. Soon after he went to breakfast he got, a plain bagel with cream cheese. He did never eat meat, he liked animals. Unlike humans, they never tried to hurt him.

Gary got his breakfast, cereal and a few strawberries.

Kestrel woke up to hear birds chirping. "Gosh Suna! Did I sleep through the night?" she asked her leopard who was yawning at the end of her bed. She got up and looked at her schedule. "Well I guess it's breakfast."
She called to Shadowwing and set of down the stairs. She didn't bother to dress because she had slept in her clothes. She realized that she had no idea where to eat. She asked a passing student who pointed her in the right direction. When she finally reached the cafeteria, she grabbed some fruit and yogurt and sat down to eat.

Kestrel looked at her schedule. Her roommate was Sarah. Hmmm. I wonder what she's like. She did not like the bustle of the cafeteria. Her own village was small and nestled a valley in the mountains. The neighbors were friendly and it was not very busy. This was a huge change. The warmth was also uncomfortable for her. At home, it was often cold. She stared around the cafetria, wondering which of the students was Sarah. Well, I supose I'll meet her sooner or later.
