Ares follows

It doesn't take long for the trees to change, becoming longer and leaner. They look kinda like the iron trees, but, well, not iron.

Maybe she could.

Ares looks around, having never been here before


One morning, a few weeks later, Ash was finishing up their daily practice session when Grimalkin appeared on a nearby stone, watching them.

"Youre still telegraphing your moves," Ash said. "Dont look at the spot youre trying to hit, let the sword go there on its own." He lunged, cutting high at her head.

The place smells like fresh air, and it's actually quite pretty. All the flowers are growing on vines, most of which are on the extremely tall trees. The grass is a sort of milky yellow color, and is fairly long- kinda like wheat, but without anything on the end. There's very few bushes, and the couple they do see are covered in vibrant, multi-colored berries. But, despite this being clearly a very hospitable area, not once do they see any animals, or even any insects.

Ares is very confused by this, not able to smell any life other than plants.

Even odder, there's old, tattered feathers everywhere, proving something, or someone, definitely was living here. And there's no remains that tell that they died, so where are they?

This only confused Ares further

There's a strange smell in the area. It's definitely a fey smell, but it doesn't smell like any kind he's ever smelled before. It smells kinda like some flying creatures, but even then it's only a vague similarity. To make things weirder still, they soon arrive at a tiny city. It's obviously very old, ancient even, and entirely abandoned.

He tilts his head as he looks at it
