The lady is too focused watching TV, which is on some kind of sitcom, to notice the massive fish-horse and semi-short girl standing over her. But she doesn't look very friendly.

The book held pictures of her family...before. Paul and her mom, on their wedding day. A cute, mixed-breed puppy that was unrecognizable. Lise as an infant, then a toddler, then a grinning four-year-old riding a tricycle, Isiea going through the same cycles, just...sooner than Lise did.

"I called in a favor," Ash explained. "The bogey living in your brothers closet found it for me. Maybe it will help your father remember."
