"So you're Italian?" Ivan said. "I'm from Russia, myself. I've been sailing around, exploring and trading where I can."

She smiled, "Already learnt nordic?" you were currently speaking in nordic, "I never bothered to learn Russian. Too expensive, and I have no interest in visiting Japan, plus body language is a cool way of getting around those language flaws."

"Yes. Body language is very fun to use, but it can be exhausting and frustrating for some." Ivan said. "I don't understand how people manage..."

"Once you've got it as a skill it's bound to work at least one of the times you use it. Until the person gets fed up, of course"

"I only know one sign, and it's not a good one, but everyone understands it." Ivan said. He, of course, was talking about the derogatory sign used by one's middle phalange.

She smiled, "That isn't actually an insult in anywhere apart from England, so don't try it. Don't make any finger gestures, actually."

"Yes. I suppose you're right. Have you been to England?" Ivan asked.

"'Course. I passed their university" she rolled her eyes with a chuckle, "Still think the short are weak?"
