Not too long later, Wave arrived, Flit accompanying her. "Sorry to make you all wait," Wave said. "I had a few urgent things to take care of. But without further ado, let's get going." Wave and Nettle went ahead of the others.
Flit flew over to Rio and Jaden. "Could I come along with you?" The Pikipek asked.
Hummer looked at the others. "Well? What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

They crossed the boundary and entered Mirage Desert. "Stay alert guys," Hummer cautioned. "It's more alive beneath the sand then it is above."

The three nodded. "Right, I'll try to detect if anything is under any spaces before we step on them" Venus told the others and she carefully sniffed out their route "chestnut trap" she stated as she walked right around one tile, her team easily keeping up with any sudden direction changes.

"I'll keep my eyes peeled for Trapinch. They're sneaky little troublemakers, and I would know," Hummer said. Suddenly the wind picked up, picking up sand with it. Hummer looked excited. "I know what that means! Sandstorm's a comin'!"

They almost immediately ran into a trio of Larvitar. Flit needed no bidding to use Drill Peck on the nearest one.

Rio quickly used his Quick Attack on the second one and Jaden used tackle on the third one since his electric powers wouldn't do as much damage.
The second Larvitar got up to attack Rio, but he was too slow as Rio used his Reversal attack to cause major damage.
The third Larvitar pinned Jaden down.
"Oops." Jaden squealed.
