I'll drink from it, make a small marker so i can find the spot again then head back to the house. Once I get there I plant the berries I'd picked up in the backyard and put the sticks I'd collected with the un-used metal before checking where the sun is at

hmm I'll go a little farther in search of more branches and such to shore up the hole, might as well look for wood varnish or anti-rust spray or smth like that-

You weren't gonna find any anti-rust spray in this world, sadly. You find a few more branches out in the forest a bit, but most of them were still on a tree.

I huff in annoyance, fine tree, it's you and me then...I glare daggers at the tree trying to make it's branches fall off for like... a minute.

I stick my tongue out at the tree and grab onto the weaker part of the limbs, pulling myself up on it then dropping down to hang from it without touching the ground in an attempt to break it off.
