The Sarge. gently moved his arm to block Lucas's path. The man was unnaturally cold. He moved forward and stood before the tunnel. Instantly the zeta beam's scanner washed over him, casting a gold glow.

"Recognized, Sergeant Thomas Sanders, Omega-1A. Location?"

"The Watchtower."

"Inputting co-ordinates.."

He glanced over his shoulder, a smirk replacing his grim expression. "This is how." He suddenly dissolved in golden light as the fan like formation at the end of the tunnel spun.

"Passenger sent."

"Oh s***." Lucas swore, scrambling backwards after he disappeared.

Surprisingly, Kai seemed the most calm, maybe because this was so interesting to him. He stepped towards the tunnel, which spoke again.

"Recognized, Aquaman, D06. Location?"

Kai didn't answer the voice of the Computer, instead just nodding for the others to join him. As they each warily stepped in, the Watchtower spoke. Chris was the first to follow.

"Recognized, Superman, D01." Chris blinked in surprise as the name as it was said, seemingly frozen in place. Deanne took it as a cue to follow, Lucas slowly doing the same.

"Recognized, Wonder Woman, D03. Green Lantern, D05."

"I guess I get the Metal Bra." Dee huffed, gesturing for the Gail, Kolivan, and Ben to follow. She was trying to hide her shock but it was evidently difficult for her. "I'm very close to running out this thing so..."

"Location?" The Computer questioned once again.

Benjamin came forward, his emerald colored eyes wide in amazement.

"Recognized, The Flash, D07."

Kolivan had to be dragged by the homeless bird woman- I mean, Gail, over to the zeta beam.

"Recognized, Martian Man Hunter, D04. Recognized, Hawkwoman, E01." (She's a later on Leaguer isn't she..?)

"Location?"

"Uh, The-- The Watchtower..?" Ben started.

Deanne began to sputter swear words just as they began to glow. In the corner, Kai looked like he was praying or something, making wild movements with his hands and closing his eyes. Soon enough, they were gone, like they'd never been there a few seconds ago.

Sanders was waiting for them, his tall figure was posted by the entrance of the tunnel. "See? You all figured it out just fine. No one died or disappeared yet I suppose..?" He said flatly, toying with his bushy 'stache.

"Jesus F**king Christ." Ben breathed, hopping down from where he had taken refuge in Gail's arms.

"Yet." Lucas said, a small, barely noticeable grin on his face. His green eyes flashed with slight amusement. "No one died or disappeared yet." He seemed to be taking the fact that he was Green Lantern's successor very well. I need a ring.

Deanne watched as Ben jumped out of Gail's arms, her own warm brown eyes flitting back and forth nervously. Her legs were planted firmly in some kind of fighting stance, and she shakily spoke. "So... the names the.. thingy... said. That's who we're replacing?"

"Yes." Kai said, pushing his glasses up his nose again. It seemed like a habit for him, he had done it multiple times, and the glasses kept sliding further down his aquiline nose. "So... I get from working at some insignificant diner to becoming the next Aquaman? That's pretty awesome."

Chris raised his hand. "Wait so I'm Superman so does that mean I can fly and shoot lasers out of my eyes and fight evil guys and breath out ice and stuff like that?"

"Christopher is like a walking reason for a first grade teacher to burst into tears." Kai said with a small laugh. He was definitely more comfortable now. "Now are we going to look around?"

Sanders nodded, "Yes. However-- Jesus Christ Kolivan put that down-- ahem, as I was saying. From my incomplete dat--knowledge I can only assume you will each gain more of your... "Gifts" after some period of time." He worded it slowly and carefully, like he was talking to a bunch of preschoolers.

Kolivan crossed his arms, a small pout spreading across his face. "What did you mean by yet?"

"Another time, another conversation."

"Comforting."

"He means one of us might die at some point," Deanne said bluntly, her eyes wandering the sleekly built interior of the Watchtower. She sucked in a breath, then hurried out of the Zeta Tube, looking up all the way to the many floors above.

"Wow." Chris breathed out, also noticing the Watchtower at that same time. "It's huge... and we're actually in space?"

"Yes." Lucas affirmed dryly, pointing to the large observation deck that they were standing near.

"Maybe." Sanders said cryptically. He led the procession of young men and women onto the deck, waving his arm in the universal gesture of 'take a look.'

Ben was instantly glued to the window, his green eyes wide and bright with excitement-- a change from his usual dull and chillaxed expression. The boy started excitedly naming off constellations and pointing this way and that.

"Alright, calm down space-boy." Kolivan scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"Wow." Chris repeated, his baby blue eyes fixated directly on where they could see planet earth. "So far, but for some reason, everything seems so much more... familiar than anywhere else I've ever been. Not even where I've lived my whole life."

Kai wasn't speaking a word, just eagerly listening to every word that Ben was saying and sometimes pointing things out so Ben could identify them for him.

"That's some deep stuff." Dee whispered back in the same tone, her eyes misting up slightly. It's so beautiful, even when I'm here with a sassy fifteen year old, a lady who randomly drops feathers, an angry man who looks just about ready to kill someone, a clueless next-in-line Superman, a guy who can turn invisible, and a smart but awkward blondie. Oh, and let's not forget the Sarge. Well this is all just amazing. She laughed to herself a bit, earning a confused look from Kai.

Lucas shrugged, obviously only pretending to be unimpressed because he was too overwhelmed to look at the stars and space. "I don't really care where Cassiopeia is, I just need to find out where I'm staying."
