Korak laughed. "As if that's true. So you have no reason why you told us to stop?" He retorted.

Theon strolled along near the edge of the forest nearest to the river. A gentle breeze rustled his hair, he tilted his head back to breathe in the scents of the world around him. Today was peaceful, relatively speaking. He had disarmed two traps, a snare and a morkko trap. It was always best to steal or destroy any traps he had found, he had smashed the morkko trap to bits and cut down the snare and kept the rope after all you could never have too much rope.

He listened to the sound of the water flowing over the rocks in the river and came to the conclusion that he had reached where he had set his own trap, not for sylesti mind you but for fish. He approached the water and knelt down, reaching his hands in to grab hold of the rope. He pulled it up and sighed. The moment it was out of the water it was obvious he hadn't caught anything. He emptied the trap of the water plants it had snagged and tossed it back into the river.
He stood and brushed himself of but then froze suddenly. He was listening very carefully, there were sylesti nearby talking with one another though he had no earthly idea what they were saying. Just as he was thinking that they were drawing a bit too much attention to themselves he heard somthing else. Footsteps, human footsteps. A bow being drawn from its place on the back, the rustle of clothing. Swiftly he drew his own bow and aimed it at the group of sylesti. Aiming high enough that there was no risk of hitting any of them, he let fly.

Korak's head jerked up, and he hissed. A trapper?! But the female vulnyx was out, did she not return soon enough and her owner go to look out for her?!

Shadow jumped up in shock hearing the arrow. She ran for it and escaped into the shadows. She closed her eyes.

Kara cowered. She had seen how her owner got rid of color from sylesti. Skinning them, cutting out their eyes, knocking their teeth out, mutilating them, and all while they were awake. She crouched down, whimpering.

Korak stepped in front of her, covering her and hissing. "Don't you dare touch her!" He yowled as he squatted above her.

To his shock only one of the sylesti ran away from his arrow. Though not just the sylesti had noticed, the trappers had too and were now rushing in towards them.
One...two...three...no, five full grown men. Well enough, he would have to deal with all of them at once whilst trying not to get mauled by the spooked sylesti. He rushed in stowing his bow on his back and drawing his sword. His senses were in overdrive, though he was running through forest he did not once falter in his step. He rushed straight at one of the men, he was obviously the fastest of the five and had managed to reach their quarry first. He stopped in between the man and what was most likely a vulnyx and hit him in the temple with the butt of his sword sending him sprawling sideways.

Shadow turned in shock. She had heard something. She saw the hunters and she tried to disappear. She couldn't though and it frightened her.

Korak hissed and pulled Kara into the forest, running as fast as he could.

Theon whipped around to face the sylesti that still remained. He knew that sylesti had a decent grasp of human language so he took a chance.
"Run or fight, choose now because there are four more on their way!"

Just as he said this two more men came into the fray. One who sounded the younger of the two swore aloud at the sight of the first trapper laying dazed on the forest floor.

"Just who the hell do you think you are eh?"

The man drew a knife and rushed at Theon while the second made to attack the remaining sylesti as the remaining two trappers arrived on scene.
