Hey guys, hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

I'm starting a new personal Vorp Project, so I figured I'd poke you guys about it. At the moment it's called Redrum, but that's likely to change. I also have two slightly different designs (because the Valentine's Lace called to me).

The 5-vis:

The 3-vis offshoot:

The only bit that bothers me slightly is the Seashell clipping around the male face. I wish it lined up better like on the female.

I have a regular Sylvorpa essence spare if anyone needs to make another Valentine's Lace before the deadline. I know a couple of you had projects planned.

That's very generous, Celuwen, but Inkanyamba is the only Valentine Lace Vorpa I should need.

BTW, did you know that Starter pets created at this time can also have the Valentine Lace Gene?

Edit: the slow parade of shinies continues--

Spelf, your little boy Natrix (fab snake name!) is adorable. Lotus Scales and Iridescence is an understated, but lovely combination. Mistletoad and Happy Newt Year! *laughs* Excellent naming once more.

So there are two types of ways to get lovely pets. The first is the tireless selective breeding process. It takes time, gold and probably diamonds. The second is when you randomly smoosh cute pets together over several generations, until something cuter happens.

The second way produced these Vorps:

Hooray, for random smooshing!

...

Celuwen! I've been going about my projects the second way all along. I could go with the first way... - well I sort of end up blending both together...but anywho.

For example:

All my lunemaras decided to go into a huge mating frenzy and will continue to do so until I get four separate parents that are at least 4 vis each... Who cares what the colours will be at the end!!!

Amarok, I have to admit to laughing at the term huge mating frenzy. I'm looking at Lunes in a whole new light. I hope your smooshing is giving you amazing results. Are you producing any cuties yet?

I do love smooshing and the results. I wonder if we've* all become far too interested in themed pets and pure breeding. Don't get me wrong, I love themed pets and the precision of selective trait breeding. I'm so grateful themed breeders are keeping old themed alive, as well as breeding so perfectly. I just feel like non-themed, random pets are also lovely. There should be a place for smooshing and fun as well as themed precision.

* - We being VVs, breeders, the site in general. So everyone. :P

Celuwen, your critters are lookin' good. I'm for the smooshing game.

I used to smoosh. It is fun and relaxing. The reason I chose to start breeding only themed seamonkeys is to give it some challenge. Achieving hard-earned goals is fun too! I personally feel like I get more out of it when I set restrictions and guidelines for myself on the way to my goals.

...also, once I started collecting only themed critters, I kinda ran out of room for the ones who were just sitting around being pretty. >.< Oops.
