He counted five seconds, shifting to a lion, and then leaped after her. To let her know he was following, he let out a bellowsome roar that might have been a little to much.

He hadn't meant to scare her, but he didn't realize he had. His huge paws thrust heavily at the ground as he quickly lumbered after her.

although lions were stronger than cheetahs, cheetahs were faster.
