It's refered in history books, of course! But it's not refered to in Hetalia. It really was one of the main cause of conflicts between France and Germany (the real countries). It was part of the Holy Roman Empire (some Holy Roman Emperor even came from there), and later It became free, but it still was under the potectorate of the Holy Roman Empire. Louis the 14th decided to invade it when the Germans were fighting in the east, because they could not come to fight him at the same time to defend it. (Fun fact: Louis the XIV did not even really invaded it. He said it was French, but there was no fight, and some people here did not even know they had become French for years before Louis the 14th send men to ask why Alsatian were not paying the taxes XD).
People continued to speak their German dialect and didn't really care (except in some times like during the French Revolution). In 1870, Germany (well, it was Prussia at the time) decided to take it back. After World War I, France wanted it back. In World War II, it became German, before becoming french again at the end of the war.
Basically, my father is born French. My grand-father is born German. His father is born French. His father is born German/Prussian. And they were all born in the same city. (And the ancestors of the last one were German/Prussian). During all time it was in the Holy Roman Empire / Free / Prussian, it was an important region. France kind of wanted it for pride. But after the World War II, since Germans (well, Nazis) forced Alsatians to fight for them while they did not want and terrible things happend, so they were happy to become French. it makes what happened to the region since the war very unfair. Now there is the European Parliament here (and, personally, even if I don't dislike France, I feel more European than French).


Have you heard about Thule? It's a Island mentioned in texts dating from antiquity, and nobody still know for sure what Island it is. Maybe your made-up nation Aurestine could be linked to it? I think it would be interesting (like that you could say it's not entirely made up but linked to a mystery like Atlantis ^^)

I have an OC for Crete somewhere (Minoan!Crete I mean), I'm sure Atlantis is somehow related to her.^^ (yes, don't let an archaeologist make Hetalia OC, they'll come with weird things^^)

I agree I don't like people who think they are the best. But I think when he acts like he's the best, he usually sounds stupid and the other countries think the same (it is quite funny when he makes he speeches and no one cares). (But then, I'm wondering why do you like Prussia? He also always he's "awesome" ^^)

And no, I haven't heard of Thule, but I'll go look it up, and it may or may not be linked to Aurestine, depending on where Thule is rumoured to be.

So basically Aurestine is a closed-off, secluded nation/country from the rest of the world, but it has a huge library full of knowledge and whatnot, so I had to figure out how the citizens could get that knowledge without communicating with the rest of the world. Sure, for big conflicts like WWI and WWII, Aurestine just sat through the two, but they know about them because well, global things, everybody knows. So I was thinking that the Nordics and England are aware that she exists, and she sometimes goes to gather information about the world from them, and Aurestinians go learn stuff about the world under fake identities or something :P

Crete sounds cool! Sure, Atlantis is related, but I'm not even sure where I want to locate Atlantis. Maybe I'll just have her location remain a secret.

As for Prussia, he claims he's awesome and the best, which he is (minus 'the best' part), and we can see that, because Prussia has a big heart and helps people when people need help. For example, when Germany was a wee little boy, Prussia had to protect him, and in the comic strip he shoots little birds from his hand to protect his brother. And also, Prussia isn't afraid to admit he did something wrong or whatever. He's also somewhat humble/modest as shown between he and Hungary, when Hungary's shirt became slightly undone in one of the episodes, Prussia looked away and even offered his own cloak for her to cover herself. Also, Prussia's pretty cool with the fact that his country is gone. Hey, he even has Gilbird.

America is... yeah. I especially dislike it when he sounds stupid but he thinks he's the best all the time.))

(If you say that having ancestors in China only is boring, I don't necessarily agree. It may well be the oldest country (we could almost say 'empire' though it's not an empire anymore since a century) of the world, with a very unique culture and history.
I have also Polish ancestry... From Silesia, precisely! This one is mentioned. :p. And my mother is born in Brittany, the 'celtic' part of France. And ancestors in Switzerland. Also, my father has rare blood type which originated somewhere in Mongolia. European ancestry is a mess! ^^

For Atlantis either you could use Plato location, or decide to say it's secret. Maybe you could say it's now under the see, but they managed to save the Island and civilization underwater anyway because of both their advanced technology and interventions from Gods.
And Crete definitely knew Atlantis well :). (But if I bring Crete here, I don't know if I would be allowed to let her have her Minoan clothing. On Minoan frescoes women where bare breasted :p Would it be disturbing for the males? :p)

We don't know where Thule is. All we know is that it's far north from UK. It has been sugested to be Iceland, Greenland, one of the Islands north of Scotland, or even a part of Norway mistaken for an Island. So I think location would fit, as it's in this part the world and the exact location does not matter. This is why I tought about it immediately.

I exactly have the same opinion on Prussia you have.
I remember also when Germany was not feeling good during the war and he really tried hard to cheer him up!
((The relation that he has with my OC shows it, he really considers her as a little sister. It's Prussia who came to take back my OC Alsace once he could in 1870. It's under the Prussian rules than a lot of thing were built, like all the administrative buildings, even the university where I am studying was rebuilt. It was also at this time that the historical sites were restored. Even things like our social security and advantges were bringed during this time. So Gilbert probably spent a lot of time here eating sauerkraut with her XD. Also, Prussia was considered as East Germany, and I know people who, the day the Wall fell, took their cars and drived to Berlin to be part of this event, because despite World War II they cared about what had happened in East Germany. Maybe my OC did that too :) ))

He coughed, "I do not care who they are, or what role they played in your universe. it seems they might have been perceived as bad people, from what i picked up from our conversation. but it doesnt really matter if im right or wrong, i have another suggestion. whether they did something wrong or not. you know them before this happens correct? do you know what time it happens? if you do you could plan something different for the day, avoid the place and time it happens. stop them from being there." he looked at Thalie, " actually i do, but its still a work in progress. if you were to give her it, her brain might mutate or shut down, resulting in death." he chuckled. "and of course history is written from the victors. they only tell you what they want you to know." he mused.
Frisk was listening to this entire conversation from the bean bag chair, and took on a strange look. "even if it messes up history you should save the people you care about. dont lose hope, even when things seem like they couldn't get any worse." he got up and walked up to Elia. "People who wrote about them did not only write what they want you to know, they wrote awful lies. For now, they have done nothing of what they have been accused of doing, and even Thalie knows I'm right, she was there as well."
She had an angry and bitter voice, but it was easy to tell that she was not angry at Nexus or at anyone else in the room, but rather at people who were not there.
"I know the exact time they are supposed to be assassinated. I could save them. The problem is, if I save them, almost all the history that we know will be changed! Everybody would still have to think they were killed the way they are supposed to be, if I want to be sure to not change history"
"I don't want to loose everything I know because Elia likes the wrong persons!" added Thalie. "But I admit that if I was at your place, I would have considered accepting hi... Their offer and may have already changed history. Are you really not tempted at all, Elia?".
The woman did not answer to her cousin.

It was if the matter was tore apart to create a doorway into his world. They could see some sort of lab on the other side. Frisk looked away from the place were the portal had been and looked at Elia. "Are you okay?" Frisk asked reaching out to touch her dress.
