The other satyr backed away while one with brown eyes and brown curly hair shook Claire's hand. "Hi. My name's Tansy."

After a few moments, five bushy white tails tipped with blue curl out from the opening- it's a kitsune. Currently all they can see of it is the five tails, meaning it's about average, but on the higher side f it.


(with kitsunes, the more tails they have the more powerful they are. For example, 0 or 1 is poor, 4-5 is average, 7-8 is powerful, and 9 is royalty)

She smiles brightly, but then frowns, looking at the satyr that backed away. "D-did I do something?" She whispers, frightened.

"Come on," the satyr said, dragging Lin away.

Tansy shook her head. "No...fey aren't usually nice unless they want something."

It falls down into the flames. Luckily for it, kitsunes are fire creatures, so the heat doesn't hurt it. It shakes its pelt and trots out of the fire. It's apparently not a kitsune, or at least not completely.

It seems to be an amalgamation of a couple creatures. Its left hind leg is equine, seeming to be a kelpie's. Its right hind leg is some sort of bird's. Its front left is a human arm and hand. Its right ear seems to be some sort of dog ear. It has a single bird's wing on the left side of its chest. It also has facial features all over its body- eyes staring around the room from its legs and tail, noses on its paws, mouths with tounges lolling out one side. There's gills on one side of its neck. It's wearing a mask over its face, with words messily scrabbled at the top- "don't take the mask off if you're squeamish. My face is messed up."

The satyr just stares at it, frozen where she was

It stares back for a long moment.

The door to Lin's door flew open abruptly and a pair of satyr girls entered behind a tall, willowy woman with pure white skin and straight raven hair. She wore a dress so black it sucked in the light, and her fingers were long and spiderlike.

The kitsune turns and heads back towards the fire, the eyes on its body narrowing.

The woman ignored the fox-like creature, swept up and grabbed Lon's face, holding her chin in her bony fingers. Black eyes, with no iris or pupil, scanned her face. "Filthy," she rasped, her voice like silk over a steel blade.
