Sonic's ears perked up. "Oh, you meant this exact spot, didn't you?"

Val nodded, "Yeah, and also did you have to pick such a hot place, it'll be really hard to get out of here with me like a porcupine."

"There's nothing wrong with that..." Shadow remarked.

Sonic grinned and looked out over the chasam. "I came to an understanding just across the way..." He said, though his tone implyed he wouldn't go into detail.

Val nodded, "Well, if you would be so kind, could you help me get out of here so I don't cook myself on accident?"

Sonic chuckled. "Come on, I know a short cut," He said, leading the trio.

Val smiled and followed the hedgehog careful where she stepped.

Sonic walked across a natural bridge, Holter close behind, Shadow bringing up the rear, and Scarlet hovering just above Val. Sonic glanced back at Val. "If we go off the path just up ahead, we'll be outta here in three minutes, give or take."

Val nodded, she wanted to get out of the hot place so that her fur wouldn't be so stiff and spiky anymore.

They were clear of the cavern 3 minutes later, just as Sonic had predicted. Holter sighed. "Phew. I was starting to dehydrate...." Shodow rolled his eyes.

Val trotted out into the open and shook out her fur, slowly her fur went back to normal.
