She's not being nearly as sociable as she usually is.

"It is not so bad," the satyr offered, leading her to the far side of the clearing. The trees here were so thick the sunlight didn't permeate the branches, shadowing everything in emerald darkness. "You might enjoy it here. Your father does you a great honor."

She stays silent.

The satyr picked her way over a tangle of roots. "Just...be careful what you say around here. If you make a promise, you're bound to it, and wars have been fought over 'small favors'. Be especially careful aroundthe high lords and ladies--they are all adept at the game of politics and pawn-making." She suddenly paled and put a hand to her mouth. "Ive said too much. Please forgive me. If that gets back to King Oberon..."

She still stays quiet. She doesn't seem to know how to react- to the satyr's slipup, being royalty, or even just having more relatives.

"Please don't tell King Oberon. I am still learning the ways of the court." They were now at the edge of the trees. A wall of flowering bramble, so thick it was difficult to see the other side, loomed above them. Between the purple and pink flowers, thorns bristled menacingly.

"I'd promise you that I won't, but you said I shouldn't make promises." She mumbles after a long moment.

The satyr just nodded, a worried expression still on her face. She reached out and brushed one of the petals. The hedge shuddered, then curled in and rearranged itself. At the end of the prickly tube stood a small red door. The satyr went and opened the door for Lin.

She quietly heads inside.

Inside, a dazzling bedroom greeted their senses. The floor was white marble, inlaid with patterns of flowers, birds, and animals. Some of the patterns even moved. A fountain bubbles in the middle of the room, and a small table stood nearby, covered with cakes, tea, and bottles of wine. A massive, silk-covered bed dominated one wall, while a fireplace stood at the other. The flames crackling in the hearth changed color, from green to blue to pink and then back again.
