He picks her up by the scruff, her fur drenched with water. Setting her down next to him, he looks around. "We'll have to start at a sprint for a few hours to catch up with them. I don't want the vixens coming into this, I don't want them getting hurt for that matter. We'll leave when they fall asleep." He states, his muzzle dripping with water.

He chuckles, "If the mother sees anything that could be considered a threat to her pups she'd protect them. She'd get hurt and the pups wouldn't have a mother, and we can't keep taking care of them. They need to stay where they belong." He says calmly.

,, Yeah, but cant we just keep her away from the threats? ,,

"Not if we will be distracted by stopping the threats! What if they get past us? Then what? They would mistake her for a shifter, we aren't risking it. Let's go." He demands, leaving no room for argument as he shifts back and shoulders his bag.
