She definitely couldn't tell her brother. Not yet, anyway. Even if Zex had shown he could protect Claire, Justice would probably still be pretty mad at him for banging his sister.

Oh, he probably would be. Mostly because he'd not fully explained that he'd let Zex be with Clair, he just wanted to make sure Zex fully understood he was going to be technically caring for a child who was mostly physically mature. But Clair didn't know she couldn't.

For awhile is right, and Zex would have to explain to her that she'd have to keep a secret from her brother. Something she'd learned she wasn't supposed to do.
