For a moment I still see nothing, and then suddenly I notice the silhouette of a figure, pale against the icy ground. It is much larger than I originally suspected, camouflaged against the tundra's setting. Many options pass through my mind as I plan my next move. There is a possibility that whatever it is still believes I cannot see it, therefore I may still have the element of surprise. I...

As you creep closer to the figure, it notices you and begins to tremble. When you can see it clearly enough, you determine that it is some sort of large, mostly bald dog. Its head as at your chest level, and it crouched down, quieting its growling and whimpering instead as you came closer. What do you wish to do?
