Thats precisely why he felt so bad that he hurt him. He knew how much Claire treasured Justice.
Which was worrying her. A lot.

Which was a lot. Shade was mostly only recently more interactive. And so Justice had been all she'd known and trusted. He'd taught her how to draw, not spill her water or milk, how to help tug the sheets to make a bed. He'd helped her when someone called her shorty, or when teachers got upset with her because she couldn't color well in the lines for a while. And he'd helped her with that enough to where she was a good artist and she loved to draw when she could. She was alive because Justice had cared for her, even when he'd lacked enough money at times to feed them both he'd neglected his own meals to make sure she had enough and just what she needed.
He noticed and gave a tired smile, rubbing one of her little ears. "I'm alright...Just...tired." He rasped softly to her.

Exactly. He knew how much he mattered to her, and if Zex had to live with the thought he was the one that took him away, well...he couldn't live with that.
She nodded faintly, but she didn't believe him.

Well at least he was lucky the furry could handle this fairly well, he'd heal about the same as a human would but his bones that where broken would become stronger. Like Clarity's wing, now it was a lot stronger and more durable.
He stroked her head lovingly, putting his own head back with a raspy sigh.

She sniffled softly, her crying slowly stopping.

He would be, that's why Clarity was able to be a bit sure that he would be.
That let him relax, making him less guilty for having caused her tears and letting him nod off. His breathing carefully started righting its self.

She blushed as well with a happy little giggle. "So, did he say anything before? Of us?"
His paw stayed on her back gently, pulse thankfully easy to feel thumping in his wrist.
