Damon watched Armun tackle the toys. He put away his phone, knowing she was right. There'd be no signal. He walked over to the food, cautiously picking up an apple and bouncing it in his hand. "I wouldn't eat this," he said, looking back at the others. "This could all be set up by some freak serial killer who wants to poison us." He threw the apple at the wall, where it splattered into pieces.

her head popped out from underneath a stuffed bear. "no its all fine i ate some. it would have killed me by now if it was bad. i'll eat some more if it settles your mind" she said and climbed out of the toys and to the table. "you guys have something to look forward to once escaping. i dont so what's the point of me escaping at all?" she mumbled and picked up a banana.

Damon stayed silent for a moment, then picked up another apple, eyeing it. "You're wrong. I don't have anything to look forward to. I had to leave my home, because of my older sister. I had to leave my cousin Mara, and my sister Lillith, and my boyfriend Ben," Damon's voice caught and he covered his mouth, choking back a sob. "So I don't have anything to look forward to, except for probably dying some horrible death because I'm a-" He fell silent, not continuing, and instead he pulled out a pocket knife and cut the apple open.

"If you had my family, you'd be glad to not remember them. My older sister Victoria was horrible to me... Lillith hardly even acknowledged that I existed, and my mom and dad both thought I was the son of the devil or something. Mara and Ben were the only good people in my life... But I'm sorry," Damon said, looking up at Armun. "If I ever find whoever did this to us, I'll make him regret it."

Damon nodded slightly. He poked the apple once with the knife, then dropped it to the floor. He looked over the table, then murmured happily and grabbed a piece of ham.
