Evan noticed the boy and saw he had quite the temper. Evan didn't see it as bad, he just seemed hurt in his mind. Slowly Evan approached the boy with a calm grin and slowed movements to show he was not a threat. " Hey.. I know it not to be my place to speak but maybe you should take a few deep breaths.. None of us are crazy here, we are hurt and going to get better is all... Maybe not completely better but somewhat so. You don't have to go but you do need to calm down.. is that alright? " His voice held a kind, compassionate tone to it along with an understanding.. He was only 2 years older then the boy when he himself came here- and that was no fun.

A nurse poked her head in. "Cole Cresthearse? Your brother is here to see you."

"Which one?"

"OBviously Callen." C.J. strode in. Cole rolled hi s eyes at him. 'Thought yu were on holiday in Peru or something."
"just got back. Everyne's in the car outside."
"oh great....i'm not leaving this room till they leave, don't need a faceslap right now." The duo were near the entrance of the room.
Raiesed brows. "You do know the O-twins have already sent you birthday cards right?"
"What cards?"
"Oh right. THey won't be here yet." C.J. facepalms.

Cole just rolled his eyes. "yOu are terrible at keeping secrets."

"Well at least three people are on speaking terms with you."

"BIrthday card terms you mean."

She notices her sudden distress out of the corner of her eye. She turns her head -though not fully, as she suspected that would scare her away- to make sure nothing bad is going on in there.

She said slowly, flinching slightly as she said depression.

Mercedes still had that glaring anger in his eyes as he turned to face Evan, but it faltered slightly when he gave of the signs of something that didn't pose a threat, like he was confused. Confused as to why he was being kind. His glare softened and he looked at his oxygen tank, deciding to avoid his gaze by staring at it.
"People who are in all three wards don't just "get better." We stay here. I'll live here. For the rest of my life." He said softly, a tone of sadness rising in it. He took some deep hiccuping breaths through the tubes in his nose, and clenched the tube slightly.
"And I want to go home. I hate it here." He said in the same quiet tone, but stayed at a calm level. His nurse looked from Evan back to him, a little bit of surprise on his features. It was odd for Merc to stay so level when someone approached him.

"You're not the only one." C.J. had left and Cole was back. "All I did was ride my skateboard into a tree and next thing you know the family dumps me here. And only one person comes to say Hi, yet they're all sitting outside in the car."

Evan kept a kind expression as he spoke, his voice still just the same as the first time he spoke. " Now that just isn't true young man, I have seen people leave here but it just takes some time is all. One day you will be free of this place and I bet that someone out there is just dying to meet a person like you. It isn't so great here but it isn't that horribly bad either, things could always be a lot worse.. You could be dead, homeless, starving and cold out there. All everyone needs here is time. I was a lad like you when I came here and still I stay here and likely so it will stay that way till I recover but if I can survive this, you can too. " He was confident in his words as he smiled to the nurse for a moment. He was a very charismatic person simply by nature and it likely would never faulter.
