Ben waved it off, "Yeh. So what?"

Sanders frowned, "That will be... discovered in all due time." He said slowly, not wishing to reveal that he himself didn't know. "And, yes, it is semi-mandatory if you yourself have no proper housing or living quarters." The elderly man said, shooting Lucas and Gail a quick glance.

"I am not green!" Kolivan retorted, a small pout splashed over his previous blank stare.

"Whatever." Dee waved Kolivan and Ben off nonchalantly. "Okay, fine then. We train with you and your... government people or whatever you are. And then we figure out what special abilities we have. And then we save the world?" She also glanced at Lucas and Gail for a second. They have no place to live?

Lucas glared at Sanders. "Can we stop talking and just find a place to stay. It was raining outside and now we're all at least somewhat wet," he growled, his voice dangerously low.

"See- thinking like a team player already!" Chris chirped cheerfully.

Gail looked down at the desk in front of her, dragging a finger over its splintered surface. Great. This is fine. What else do they know?

Benjamin shrugged, quietly appreciating his moment of no socializing. He'd rather sleep or lay down quite honestly, but that wasn't his call.

Sanders didn't seem fazed, "Right. Yes." He said rather plainly, his tone flat and robotic.

Lucas got up. "Okay, let's go then."

"But where's the Watchtower? On some random island? Bermuda Triangle? On the ocean floor? Hidden within the Mariana Trench?" Deanne speculated, her eyes wide. "Or-"

"Actually," Kai interrupted, shying away for a second as their gazes turned to fix on him. "There's a study on the Zeta Tubes. Apparently they can teleport people but it's only a speculation so far. Only the Justice League knows what they're truly for. But that's it, right? They'll take us to the Watchtower?"

Benjamin picked his nails, not wishing to give away his excitement. His inner science nerd was practically going to have a heart attack.

Sergeant Sanders nodded, "Indeed. Come, the Zeta beams are close by." He did a motion with his hand that usually school teachers used to usher their students to their feet.

Gail rose to her feet unsteadily, and was shaking out her leg, which had fallen asleep. Several more of those brown feathers slipped through her battered winter coat and fluttered lazily to the floor. "Don't have to tell me twice." She mumbled.

Kolivan moved from where he had been leaning against the wall, "Space."

The White-Owl leaped fearlessly from rooftop to rooftop, his footfalls silenced by his softened and worn down boots. Alongside the vigilante a larger leather clad form ran. They shared a knowing half glance, barely needing language to communicate actions anymore. Together they slipped into their target's hideout.

((So I guess they'll know when the Computer reads out the Zeta Tube designations right? No idea how accurate the link is but oh well))

"A'ight." Deanne got up, shaking her damp hair out slightly. Her black hoodie was also wet, not nearly drying as fast as she wished it would. Her combat boots made faint tapping noises as she stood and stretched from the place where she had been sitting on the floor.

Chris seemed more interested with what Kolivan had said. "Space? What do you mean? What about space?"

"I'm pretty sure you have plenty of it in your head." Lucas muttered under his breath as Chris asked the questions. He raised his voice so they could all hear, still using the deep and monotonous tone. "I call the biggest room."

"Well if we're taking the place of superheroes-" Kai tested the words, pausing for a couple of seconds. He fixed his glasses self consciously. "-then we must already have specific rooms." The boy seemed more at ease now.

Ben snickered, jabbing a thumb at Lucas, "I like this guy already."

Kolivan figuratively shrunk under Sanders's piercing gaze. "..Nevermind.."

Gail shook herself out like a dog, thick globs of muddy rain water running in rivulets down her tattered wind breaker.

Sanders moved his steely gaze over to Kai, "Indeed. You will all know when we arrive at our destination." The elderly man pushed past between the desks, heading for the door to the hall, Kolivan trailing after him.

Kai was the first to shadow Sanders, obviously terrified of what would happen if he was left alone without the others. His blue eyes darted around nervously, and he ran his hand through his blonde hair in some kind of anxious routine.

Shrugging at the others, Deanne followed the Sergeant. She crossed her arms as she walked, glancing down at the floor, seemingly amused by the number of puddles on the floor. "It's hard to actually believe that we're... replacing greats like Superman. And Batman, and Wonder Woman- and whatever others were there."

Lucas eyed the short girl. She didn't seem like a possible threat to anyone, but who knew? And then of course there was the strange other woman who appeared to also be homeless. He snorted. Wonder what her problems are.

Chris ran forward a little to catch up with Kolivan. "So what were you saying about space?" His blue eyes were wide and almost like that of a little child's. "I mean, I get it-" His voice turned hushed. "The Sarge is kinda scary."

Kolivan glanced up, his eyes momentarily flashing green. Or, maybe, it was a trick of the light. "The Watchtower." He stated in a hushed, barely audible tone. "Is in space. It pretty much orbits the Earth. Like-- uh-- what are they called..?"

"Satellites..!" Ben said, suddenly butting into the conversation.

Chris jumped a bit at the sudden appearance Ben had made. "Oh. Makes sense. It's strange how no one has found it before, but then again... it's pretty much a miracle that they even have superpowers, like how eve-"

Kai drew in a sharp breath. "There!" He pointed to a dark tunnel that seemed nearly void of any special traits other than the fact that it was placed so randomly at the end of the room.



"There's nothing at the end." Dee huffed, putting her hands on her hips. "So, I have no idea what's so exciting."

"These are the Zeta Tubes. The work with Zeta Beam technology, but it doesn't seem to work when people try it. The Justice League never commented when asked."

Deanne raised an eyebrow at Kai. "How do you even know all this?"

"I read in my free time, obviously."

"Well, are we going to try it or not?" Lucas questioned, stepping towards the tunnel.
