*pops in* I'm trying to finish up Utena and the old Sailor Moon right now. I wanna start more but if i do i'll never finish...

I'm on a quest for Magical Girl series, i don't think i'll watch ALL of them but i've got a small list.

If i may add a rec, Muhyo and Roji is a GREAT manga. Unfortunately it hasn't been uploaded in full online yet, i don't think. (A friend of mine said she'd do it but she's been super busy lately and i don't wanna bug her). But 16/18 volumes are there, and the characters and story are really great. I think it falls under the horror/supernatural genre, but i was able to handle it so it's not that bad. Essentially it's about...well they call it Magic Law and that's pretty much what it is, i'm not sure how to explain it otherwise. Sounds boring, but it's not, trust me!

Suggestions in order of my recommendation (Some magical girl, some just similar in feel):
1. Card Captor Sakura
- Love it. Magical girl. One of my top 5 anime.

2. Gakuen Alice
- Underrated. Very good. Not magical girl, but magic is core concept.

3. Puella Magi Madoka Magica
- Slightly overrated. Still great. Magical girl with a big twist. A very unique magical girl anime.

4. Tokyo Mew Mew
- Saw part of this when younger. Decent magical girl anime. Probably the most similar to sailor moon on this list in terms of magical girl anime formula.

5. Chicchana Yukitsukai Sugar
- Not magical girl. I've only seen part way through the series. It's cute and there is magic.

6. Ojamajo Doremi
- Magical girl, cute, kid-like. Watched a bit when younger.

7. Shugo Chara!
- Beginning is good. Tends to drag a bit as becomes more and more geared towards younger kids. Manga has more conclusion -- whereas anime has 0 conclusion on the love element.

8. Kamichama Karin
- I have not seen this, but supposedly it's not bad.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Muhyo and Roji sounds very interesting, I'll check it out. Looks very different from magical girl though.

Is Kuroko no Basket worth the hype? o:

I'm not watching any new anime, but have recently got addicted to RPG-like manga with OP main characters. Could list like at least 10 rofl if you're interested. Noticed that of the one's I'm reading, Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka , has an anime. Not sure if this genre is your cup of tea though. Overpowered characters are my favorite. =w=) In relation to the ones I'm reading it's middle of the road; still like it though.

Ha, i actually have a few of these already on my list! Cardcaptor was actually one of the ones i was gonna hit next, probably with Princess Tutu. I saw the dub a little as a kid, but i found out recently it was censored much like Sailor Moon, so subs this time! I saw a bit of the Mew Mew and Doremi dubs when i was little, and my friend had the manga for Mew Mew. Poor Lettuce...

I looove Madoka. I can't join streams with it 'cause i still cry! Still have to watch the movies though.

I'll look into the rest, but thanks!

It's not! Like i said, it's horror/supernatural i think. Not like Junji Ito horror, a lot...i guess cuter would be the word? I like lots of stuff, not just magical girls! But i figured i'd toss one rec out, that was the first one that popped into my head.

\o/ Hope you like it. c:

Yeah, when I was little I watched a little bit of doremi dubbed for saturday morning cartoons. xD I remember watching a little bit of Princess Tutu and not liking it, but I can't remember why. I think it was something about the main character though. Since it has good ratings, it was probably was just me.

I liked sailor moon~ It was honestly a lot better than I thought it would be when going into it. :)

Ah yeah, I was just thinking how far horror/supernatural is from magical girl. xD I can try to think of recommendations in that genre realm if you are interested in more. :3

Yeah, i thought it was a cool concept, not being able to be called a witch, and having a distinct musical theme. I haven't seen Tutu but i hear it's one of those love-it-or-hate-it shows.

Everything with me tends to be a case-by-case deal, and i go by synopsis more than anything. If i can't get through the first episode, probably won't watch it unless someone insists it gets better. I might like all but a few in an entire genre, or i might like just one or two. Like, i don't normally like slice of life, but Princess Jellyfish was a big exception. If that even IS slice of life, heh.

People seem to have so many preconceptions about SM, it's...it's about teenage girls, so there's gonna be girliness to an extent. But the characters are fairly realistic people, and are well developed. And while some stuff is kinda obvious the story is pretty compelling too. But they touch on a lot of stuff that leaves room for interpretation, too. Not to mention there's like 8 mediums to watch/read, from both animes, the manga, live action series, musicals, etc, and they're all fairly unique despite being essentially the same stories.

yeah spice and wolf was one of the first animes I watched, it has a special place in my heart uwu

Kuroko no baket is good, but the only complaint that I have is that it literally takes 5 episodes to get through each game. How can they fit so much dialouge and eye-widening into a 1-hour game??? (at least I think 1 hour, not sure). If you like sports anime (which I actually do) then KNB is something to watch, but you may get bored if you're not into sport anime (actually, you may get bored of jaw-dropping and eye widening even if you like sports anime...)

Oho with the Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka I've heard it's similar to Sword Art Online? (I loved SAO ugh) yeeah that stuffs cool uwu
