Resa stepped back to look at the passageway. It was quite big and should have easily been spotted so why didn't the backstage guard see it? She jumped as she felt a hand on her shoulder and spun around to see the very officer she was thinking of.
"Oops, sorry, didn't mean to scare you." He glanced around her to the passageway. "Is that how the thief got in?" He asked with a concerned look on his face.
"Most likely." Resa replied. "You didn't notice this at all before?"
"I saw the wallpaper was newer but I just thought they replaced it. I never saw it open." He pointed to the door next to the stage. "I was keeping an eye on those three people from over there, remember?"
Resa nodded. "Yes, I remember. Maybe they were supposed to be a distraction. Something meant to take your attention from it."
"And the makeup artists and pageant contestants would have been too busy with their work to notice it too." He added.
She thought about those people in the audience and remembered someone else she saw. "Maybe the detective knows something we don't."
"Detective?"
"I saw detective Starr in the audience." She made her way to the door and motioned for Charisma to follow. "I'm going to see if he's still here, I need you to stay here and make sure no one goes near that opening... Um..."
"Creighton."
"Right. Thanks, Creighton." She muttered before going off in search of the detective.

Matt sat in his seat with his arms folded across his chest. He could not leave without looking utterly suspicious. Nor could he explore backstage as he was itching to do. He hoped the police chief would not notice him when he arrived on scene, or any of the officers for that matter. He did not need hauled off down to the station for questioning, and then told to buzz off and drop his case, especially when he had another appointment later that day. His only hope might be to play dumb. Ironicly his cover might provide him his best excuse. Although if he was really lucky no one would realize he was here. Glancing up he saw a police officer looking straight at him and heading his direction. Great, lady luck was not in his favor today it seemed.

Resa approached the detective quickly and with determination, she wanted to do as much as possible before chief Yett arrived. This was supposed to be a quiet and non-eventful day for her but he was probably going to send her home now. She wondered if any of the other officers got treated like children.
"Excuse me, detective Starr, I'm officer Jewel. I'd like to ask you a few questions if you don't mind." She hoped her face didn't reflect the concern she felt.

Matt raise his eyebrows mentally cursing fate. "Very well, what did you have in mind?" At least she was not addressing him aggressively, but she was still acting on official authority and had used his title, never a good sign. Hiding his discomfort with a blank face he waited for her questions, wondering if he was about to be told off anyways.

Resa took a seat next to Matt so she wouldn't be standing over him while Charisma sat on his other side. She doubted very much that he'd run but wanted to take the precaution anyway. "Let's start with those people in the crowd. You were much closer to them than any of the guards and in your line of work you notice things. Is there anything of note that you can tell me about them?"

Julian sighed as he looked around the corner at all of the mayhem going on down the road. A few more police cars were beginning to arrive. It looked like he wasn't going to be getting any closer. He quickly looked back to his computer and began viewing the outdoor cameras around the doors. Suddenly he flipped to one and it was only static. It looked like one of the cameras was taken out! And if he guessed right it should be..." he glanced around the corner of the alley he was in and to his left towards the building. There it was, so close he might have been able to see the getaway vehicle if he just looked around the corner. He could see the wires had been pulled from underneath the camera. This model had a temporary databank, it should have saved the last few things it saw. Maybe if he could get to it...

(Sorry I haven't been on. Life has been just a little crazy this week.)
Matt looked the officer for a second before turning a musing gaze upwards. One of them had a black beard, he wasn't close enough to get an eye color. Fair skin. Average height, fairly muscular. Typical muscle, Matt thought to himself. The other one I got a fairly good view of was darker skinned and more slender in build. I was not close enough to see what kind of hair style, but it looked like a professional cut. The last had a medium build and I think brownish hair, but he was on the other side of the audience. I did notice that all three were dressed in nicer suits, although that's pretty normal in a crowd like this." Matt shrugged ignoring the sylesti sitting on his other side and staring at him, "Other than their odd behavior, which I am sure you noticed, that's about it. Its not much, but I hope it helps."

Resa wrote down their descriptions as Matt spoke. "No, no! It's very helpful, thank you. I'm surprised you got so much detail in the dark." She heard more police vehicles arrive outside, she'd have to wrap this up before Chief Yett chased the detective away.
"Just one other thing. What business do you have here?"

Matt gave a sheepish smile. "Not really business, but an effort to keep from embarrassing myself. I ran into a childhood friend the other day and ended up invited to dinner. Thing is she turned out to be a competitor for beauty contests. I decided to watch and see what the fuss is about. I did not want to be the only person at the dinner who had no clue what they were talking about. I did not want to be the ignorant stick in the mud if you catch my drift. I usually dont go for fancy dinners like that, but she is an old friend, but I did not want to embarrass her or myself either. The way ones vanity reveals itself"
