At that moment they heard a great rushing noise, like thousands of leaves rustling in the wind. A ragged cloud moving toward them at a frightening speed, blotting out the sky and stars.

"Hang on," Puck said, and grabbed Lise's hand.

She instinctively flexes her hand, but of course no claws come out.

She stared at the cloud, gripping Pucks hand.

The black mass rushed toward them, screaming with a hundred voices. There were dozens of faces, eyes, open mouths, before it was upon them. Cold, cold fingers snatched at them, bearing them up. Their feet left the ground in a rush, and they were hurtling skyward. Icy wind surrounded them, tearing at their hair and clothes.
