True, but with this family it worked differently. If his father had been alive he would have been the one to protect and care for the two, and so when he had begun dating Akira he would have been taken from under his fathers wings and would move on to care for and protect Akira with everything of himself. But he was the oldest male, and as soon as Clarity got with Zex...well Justice would have nothing over her. She'd still be his sister, but she'd be Zex's. This family took it seriously when the male lover was supposed to care fully for the female. His father had left his own family, before they had died, to love and protect their mother; who had done the same. She'd left her family to become all for their father. But as with the parents of their parents, their mother and father had died . The only difference was that it had happened at a much younger age to them than their mother and father.

So it would be somewhat like a woman marrying into someones family, and she becomes apart of their family instead.

Yeup, you got it. And it was still the same even if they weren't on earth. Justice would literally be giving away the last of his living family. Surprisingly ... willingly. Because he knew Clair would be happy ... and that make it clear for the right choice. But he was only doing what his mothers' father had done to Justice's father, making sure that the lover for the female would keep her safe and well. But he already knew that Zex would do just fine in that, but he was going by tradition despite that he could die doing so.

Zex hoped he wouldn't kill him. Sometimes he had trouble controlling himself.

Well hopefully it would help that he'd be fighting the savage side of Justice.
