restricted traits can not be generated using essences. you'll need a pet with this trait in order to start - and you've taken one from me recently. >w<
well, this is getting complicated. >:3 though you have no reason to worry, everything's possible if you have patience and a bit of luck. or no luck at all, I mean, look at me, unluckiest person on the site, yet I still manage to finish my projects somehow. :D

here's what I suggest.
make three pets with the color scheme of Brute:
1F - female - carried Galaxy Stripes, carried Feather Wings
2F - female - carried Feather Wings, carried Flame Spirit Horns
1M - male - carried Galaxy Stripes, carried Flame Spirit Horns
and the 2M shall be the pet you've got from me - https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=3071104. don't worry about his other traits, they don't really matter. >w<
however, you need to keep in mind that the number 4's color scheme is really different from Brute's, so you should avoid breeding with him too many times - all you need from him is AN tail, and he shall pass it anyway. you can also breed the other generated female with one of my pets with the AN tail trait, so the offspring with carried AN tail would not be related to each other.
so, the plan is:
breed 1F and 2M; breed 2F and *any other pet with visible AN tail*.
^ do it until you have one male of each pair and a female of any of those pairs, call them 3M, 4M and 3F
now, breed 1F and 4M, 2F and 4M, 1M and 3F. then, breed their offspring, then the offspring of the offspring, and so on, until the colors and traits are all right and visible.

I have no idea what is a "genone", but dyeing a purebred is ruining the conception of its purity. the whole idea of breeding purebred is that it starts with tagged pets of the same theme, and all the breedings are done between pets of those theme and their offspring, no non-themed, no other themes, no dyeing. keep it pure. and if you dye such pet, well, it's not pure anymore. nothing deadly about it, just an offspring that lost its value. still pretty though, as long as you don't dye it in ugly colors of course.

well, they do. the restrictions on breeding here are not so strict. to breed a pair of pets, you should make sure they don't share a parent and are not a child and a parent themselves. that's it.

I'm finding just getting the wings to add into my project is the most challenging part. Fortunately there is one boy set up for public breeding, but it would be nice to get some new pets into the mix.

I think I will actually name them 1M and 1F etc to avoid me getting confused

hm... AN traits are recessive anyway, you can ignore them easily, just make sure the carried trait won't get passed too far. :D

this one boy may pass only the wings if you get (un)lucky enough.

Yeah, I know they are recessive but I've learned to avoid any traits I don't want in a project. If I don't want them, they always cross over...glares at glowing runes and kelp headdress on my ice forest kelp. :-P. That's the worst part of my themed projects, they all have traits I'm trying to breed out and they are being stubborn. The recessives are actually more of a pain because I have to make sure any vis traits don't have a hidden surprise that will pop up just when I think I've cleared it out.

I'm still playing around with colors. I know I like these traits together, so I'm not going to worry too much about it until I get the final pair(s).

you don't have to add colors, but keep in mind that if your finished pet's grandchildren will have visible traits in those slots, the results may look... not really nice. but it's up to you, personally I'd set those colors to match the scheme just in case.

ah, I see. well, chances that I get a pet with AN wings only, are pretty low, but I'll make sure to give one to you if I happen to get it. ^^ for now, the guy with carried stuff above is all I have.
