Her question causes her to stiffen, and she starts trembling again.

The girl studied her. "Are you human?" The girl cocked her head the other way. "My sisters told me stories of humans. They said they sometimes sing to them to lure them underwater." She grinned, showing off her sharp needle-like teeth. "I've been practicing. Want to hear?"
"No, she certainly does not." Grimalkin came stalking through the grass with Ash right behind. They were soaked, water dripping off them in rivulets, and Grimalkin did not look pleased. "Shoo," he growled at the girl, and she drew back, hissing and baring her teeth. Grimalkin seemed unimpressed. "Go away. I am in no mood to play games with nixies. Now, get!"
The girl hissed once more and fled, sliding into the water like a seal. She glared at them from the middle of the river, then vanished in a spray of mist.
"Irritating sirens," Grimalkin fumed, turning to glare at Lin, eyes narrowed. "You didn't promise her anything, did you?"

She shakes her head, still a bit unnerved from the question.

"Good." The cat flicked his tail, spraying her with drops of water. "Now, I suggest we find somewhere to rest. You are wounded," he said, nodding to her arm that the spear had got. "And the swim took a lot out of me. If you can walk, I encourage you to do so."

She walks off in a random direction.

"Nope, wrong way, human," Grimalkin said, flicking his tail again. He trotted away from the river and into the lands of the Erlking. Ash stopped at the border. "I can't go any farther."

Shes extremely confused.

Ash noticed and said, "This is the Seelie court. If you haven't noticed, I belong to the Unseelie court. I could go into your court, but then I'd be free game, the knights could kill me on sight."

This just makes her more confused.

Ash shook his head. "You should just go." They would see each other later, even if Lin didn't know it. He turned and walked off
