The cold hit her immediately, and her breath hung in the air. Ethans bedroom was completely encased in ice. The walls, the dresser, the bookshelf; all covered in a layer of crystal nearly two inches thick, but so clear that she could see everything trapped within. Outside the window, a cold, clear night shone through the glass, the moonlight sparkling lifelessly off the ice.

She immediately takes out her knife.

But Ethans bed was empty, the quilts flat and still beneath the frozen layer.

There was a faint noise from beneath the bed, a soft, breathy whimper.

She looks under the bed.

Lise got down and looked under the bed. " Ethan? "

A small, shivering lump stirred in the far corner, and a pale face looked up at theirs.

She sees Lise. But she doesn't care about that. She's just worried about Ethan.

The feeling is mutual.

" Ethan, " She calls out to him.

(I love how Lise literally thought Isiea was dead, then sees her, and is like "meh, okay guess you came back to life")
