Dream:
I hop up the ladder behind Destiny, hoping I'll be able to catch her if she falls. I'm soaking wet and extremely cold, shaking in my thick green hoodie. I enter the treehouse and see the others are all already in here.
"I suppose we should start with introductions. Hi everyone, I'm Dream, I walked here from Florida. This is Anthony, or Ant for short, and Destiny. Together we're heading to NYC," I say, sitting on the ground next to Ant to check out his ankle.
Zak:
"Alright, I guess we have more people now. I'm Zak, but you can call me Skeppy. This is Alex," I say simply. "Uhm... you all are probably cold, but I dunno if my clothes would fit you," I say nervously
"It's alright, we have extras in one of the waterproof bags," The boy who calls himself dream says. I look at him, sitting on the floor.
"Is dream your real name?" I ask
"Does it matter?" He retorts in a snippy tone I shrug.
Ant:
I flinch slightly as Dream turns away from Zak and picks up my leg. He begins gently prodding it with his finger and I take a deep intake of breath through my teeth.
"What the hell are you doing?" I hiss. His head angles up in my direction, but I can't tell if he's actually looking at me because of his mask.
"Checking for breaks," He says simply. "It doesn't seem to be broken, I think you just sprained it pretty badly. I think if I could get a brace for it, you should be able to walk in a few days," he continues poking me. I finally have enough and I jerk my leg away. He puts his hands in his lap.
"Yeah, you wouldn't be able to move like that if it was broken. I think you'll be okay," He says. I sigh in relief.
"That's good to hear."

Destiny:
Destiny waves with a cheerful smile when she was introduced and polietly replies when Zak introduces himself and Alex. Destiny sits down a few feet away from everyone, content with just watching, and, eventually, just listening. She leans back against the wall and closes her eyes. She is almost tempted to tell Ant to watch his language when he says hell, but she decides it isn't exactly her place since she isn't in the conversation. However, Alex decides to pipe up - whether for the best or worse.
"Watch your language, my good sirs, we're in the presence of a lady." Alex stage whispers. He grins and quotes from the story of Peter Pan when asking if she would be their mother. Destiny opens her eyes a crack and smirks at Alex, shaking her head at his question of whether or not she's willing to be their mother. No way was she ready to be a mother of boys older than herself. Destiny can tell that Alex has some kind of accent, but it's not very strong and she can't place her finger on it. She decides not to waste her energy in trying to figure it out. She closes her eyes again only to be disturbed once more when Alex places a blanket next to her for her to use. Alex also offers a blanket to everyone else.
Alex:
"So what's in NYC that's got you travelling so far?" Alex asks, sitting down before popping back to his feet. He paces for a few minutes before calming himself down enough to simply stand still. The need to get up and move is too strong to resist and he'd probably end up annoying someone. Maybe. Depends.
At dinner times, when his family was still around, it would be a great accomplishment if Alex would sit down for not even a minute. He wouldn't move around a lot, but he'd just eat his dinner standing - which annoyed his dad a lot more than it bothered the rest of his family.

Ant:
I snap loudly.
"Destiny, go elsewhere and change before going to sleep. You're going to get everything wet," I say in a caring way, before looking to Alex.
"And I'm the most parental figure around," I say with a tiny grin as Dream goes back to poking my ankle like a small curious child. I roll my eyes at him
"Could you cut that out?" I ask "That hurts." He tilts his head up at me.
"I'm trying to figure out what muscles you pulled," he explains "That way I can recognize the injury sooner if it ever happens again," He says simply. It shocks me how incredibly intelligent he is.
Dream:
Ant stares at me, seemingly in wonder.
"What?" I ask in a bewildered tone. He shakes his head.
"Nothing," he looks away. I shrug and go back to poking his leg.
Zak:
"There's a bathroom down the hallway," I say, pointing.
"If anyone wants to change, go down there," I continue. "I'm going back to sleep. Feel free to sleep wherever you'd like," I say, before curling up on the end cushion of the couch and slipping a blanket over my side.

Destiny:
Destiny jumps at the snap. She turns to Ant and mumbles, "But I don't wanna get up and get changed." After a few minutes, she manages to gather enough strength to grab clothes, stand up, go to the bathroom, and get changed. She stumbles back to her spot, now in nice and dry clothes, and pulls her blanket around her as she slides to the ground. She listens to the others for a few moments longer before closing her eyes and allowing the chatter and rain to become background noise.
Alex:
"You're the most parental figure? Got it. Let's see how long it takes before I get on your nerves." Alex says, taking notes inside his head to try and find out ways to stay on Ant's good side. Last time he had gotten on someone's nerves had ended in Payton getting angry and that had been scary. Alex hadn't been trying to be annoying then, so his resolve is to try even harder not to be annoying now.
For a fleeting moment, at the mention of sleep, Alex felt tired and actually willing to fall asleep. Then it passed just as quickly as it had come. "Ok. Good night, Zak." Alex smiles and hesitates before giving Zak a small hug. Then he backs up and changes the subject again in an attempt to keep the conversation going. Alex could only wish that Ant and Dream would stay awake, but he knew they probably wouldn't and he was alright with that.
"How can you figure out what muscle is pulled just by touching it?" Alex asks as he stands next to Dream and Ant, again reluctant to sit down.

I look at Alex.
"My old friend Nick used to play soccer lots, and his favorite thing to do was hurt himself. I bought an encyclopedia on the human body and read it. I have a photographic memory, so even though I read it three years ago, I still remember. I also familiarized myself with the muscles, so I could remember. It's good practice," I say, finally leaving Ant's ankle alone.
Ant:
As soon as Dream stops prodding my ankle, I get up, grab my bag, and hobble over to the bathroom. I quickly change into a pair of feminine shorts, white leggings, and a pale blue crop top hoodie.
"Thank you guys for letting us stay," I say, waddling back into the living room. Dream helps me over to the couch before going to change himself.
"Oh, by the way, Ant, I'm going to wear your clothes until mine dry. They needed to be washed," Dream says, and I nod in agreement.
He comes back out in a button-down flannel, a pair of jeans, and his mask. I don't really understand why he's still wearing it. It looked good with his other outfit, but it seems so out of place on him now.

"Rad." Alex says on the topic of Dream having photographic memory and that he had used that ability of his to help his friend who was susceptible to getting injured. Alex wishes he had photographic memory. That would have been really useful when school was still in session and he had finals to look forward to. Alex rocks back on his heels when Ant gets up and goes to change. When Ant came back, Alex's going to help Ant to the couch, but Dream beat him to it and so Alex falls back.
He smiles when Ant thanks him and Zak for letting them stay. "Of course. We'd be jerks if we didn't." Alex says. Also, he isn't going to get out of his jacket anytime soon, even if it is wet. It'll dry eventually and Alex didn't have a change of jacket/sweater/shirt. Then Alex asks Dream why he always wore a mask, already having a theory that it was something along the same lines of why he wore his jacket or stood almost all the time - it's a constant element that provides comfort. Alex also debates whether or not now would be a good time to ask what was in NYC before brushing it aside. They could talk about that later.
Destiny:
Destiny's asleep.
Payton:
Payton is falling asleep, planning on checking on Alex and Zak when the zombies disperse and when there's more light. Nikkie curls up next to Payton and falls asleep next to him.

I nod.
"I do always wear a mask. I'm not sure why I do though. I... don't want people to see my face I guess," I say, shrugging. "It also has A tiny bit to do with safety though. I don't want anything to hit me in the face, so this is a pretty good protection option. I've has this mask for a long time as well, and it reminds me of my friends. I simply can't let it go," I mumble softly, grabbing my axe and a rock, and then beginning to sharpen its blade.
"You should get some sleep, if you can," I say, looking up at Alex. "I can take first watch, and I'm sure Zak would be more than happy to cuddle with you again," I say with a smirk.
Ant:
I crawl under the blanket with Destiny and I rest my head on her shoulder, slipping into sleep in moments. Today's been a long day.
Zak is Sleeping
(Do you plan on making Payton and Niki get together? Cause I think Payton + Dream would be a perfect, chaotic match uwu)

Alex nods, respecting Dream's reasons for wearing the mask all the time. He laughs when Dream suggested he sleep. Sleep and he were enemies and didn't come together often. However, cuddling with Zak didn't sound that bad. "Ok, I'll try to fall asleep, but let it be known I have warned you that sleep does not come easily to me." Alex says, rocking back on his heels. He glances towards Zak, not sure he wanted to lay down, much less sit down. However, he managed to calm down enough to lay next to Zak. He hugs Zak close, closing his eyes. Sleep, like already noted, would be long to come, if it ever came. Still, Alex is trying.
(I wasn't planning on Payton and Nikkie getting together, though I was thinking of Nikkie liking Payton, who wouldn't return the feelings. So Payton + Dream sounds good. OwO)

I blink and look around the now-quiet treehouse. I walk out to the roofed balcony and slide my mask to the side of my head, facing away from everyone. I rub my eyes, taking my first good look around the grounds. It feels good to have my face showing. I don't feel comfortable showing it around the others, and even before everything went down I always wore some sort of face covering, usually just a regular face/medical mask. My anxiety and agoraphobia usually prevent me from showing my face to anyone. The only people who've ever seen my face are my family and my two best friends.
I sigh longingly. I miss Nick and George so much.
Zak and Ant are asleep.

Alex is very much not asleep, but he's doing his best not to disturb everyone. He sits up next to Zak and rocks back and forth. He couldn't keep still for long, it's almost impossible. Alex practices messing around with his power of creating illusions for fun. A few moments later, Alex had a silent army of imaginary beings and things, currently occupied with putting on a Shakespeare play for Alex's amusement. Alex decided to stop the play abruptly and see how Dream would react if he sent one of his made up creatures Dream's way.
The silent illusion walks over to Dream and pounces in front of him.
Destiny and Payton and Nikkie are asleep
