Snippets eyes widen as she realizes why the mystery dragon, Scorpio, was writing. "Oh cool! You can;t talk?" She exclaims, the realizes that may sound rude. "I mean.. erm.. not cool...." Snippet would laugh if she wasn't trying so hard to keep a straight face. "Anyways, part nightwing too? That's cool! Do you have powers? I would so love to have powers. Mind reading would be awesome, then I could know if I'm being to annoying. But telling the future would be so cool too!" She pauses, "You don't have to answer any of that, writing can take time. I'm patient though! And being a normal dragon is cool too. Well, as normal as one can get as a hybrid anyways." She says smiling grandly at Scorpio. She notices Scopio's gaze flicker to the exit. "What's that?"

scorpio looked at the ground, then nodded at the questions, but refused to even write or use an expression to say what she was worried about. instead, her claws started to move fluidly, like sign language. (to anyone who has an oc knowing sign language she was saying something along the lines of 'i am scared. my mother is here. i dont want to be hurt. i dont want dragons here hurt. my mother is here. i am S.C.A.R.E.D'. her mother is pretty rude, so she has every right to... sign it?). she then spread her wings, shielding the little mudwing hybrid like it was her own egg. someone seemed to be coming.

Snippet had heard of sign language before, but she'd never had the opportunity to learn it, as her mother had died when she was one and a half, and not long after her father had gone insane (from grief or something else, no one knows) and tried to kill Snippet (as shown by her many, lengthy scars). Snippet had been clever enough to trap him and barley escape with her life, and has lived on her own ever since. Her father has never been seen since and Snippet assumes him dead.
Snippet was sad to not be able to understand Scorpio though. Suddenly, she hears footsteps. Snippet sees Scorpio flinch and offer her wing. Snippet hides thankfully under it, feeling much safer that way. I like her! She thinks gleefully, but her mood is quickly sombered at the approach of the mysterious dragon. She sneakily peers under the wing to try to make out whom it could be, but to no avail. She could tell Scorpio was scared though, and she nuzzles her side comfortingly. I'm here, We can be safe together. She thinks.

Scorpio's head was held high, trying to make her look bigger. a familiar scent hit her nose, along with something that smelt similar to the little dragon.her wings wavered a bit as she slowly edged over to the opening, flashing her spots in the code her father had made up for communication. she kept flashing, until a male voice, from just around the corner, answered. "S-scorpio?" he whispered, finally being bathed in the light of her glow-spots. it was her father, getting dragged along by a mudwing. he was tossed in after a complicated key-code was entered into something on the other side. he got to his feet, wrapping his wings around his daughter, who got squished in the crease. "scorpio? w-what are you doing here? d-did they find you?" he whispered, letting her go. she nodded, her spots flashing again. he nodded, then looked over at the smaller mudwing. "who are you, little one? i am bravewing, scorpio here's father." he was a soft gold with a starry night sky under his wings. his barb flicked around as he started to block out all the minds before they started to get inside his head.

Snippet watches the mudwing with curiosity, only catching the last half of the key code. She didn't recognize him, but she had yet to recognize any dragon in this cave.
Snippet watched Scorpio reunite with her father with only a small pang of sadness. She didn't like being sad, so Snippet forced it away and looked at Scorpio's father. He seemed to be a nightwing sandwing hybrid, which both surprised Snippet and made sense. "I'm Snippet! Nice to meet you Bravewing, father of the awesome Scorpio. What are you doing here? The mystery dragons didn't seem happy to see you either. I guess they just don't like hybrids? I don't know why though, hybrids are way cooler than normal boring dragons! Maybe they're jelous. Or scared. They could be scared. I definitly look feirce with all my battle scars! Their tails must be trembling in fear!" Snippet jokes."Oh wait! Do you have powers? What are they like? Do you have the same ones as Scorpio? Please tell me!"

bravewing smiled. "yes, we do. we both have mind-reading and prophetic powers. we use them to communicate past scorpio's handicap. we block out the thoughts of other dragons, so as not to but in. it is quite rare for scorpio to protect someone, so she must have thought of you quite highly." he sighed, curling up on a smooth bit of the floor. "you know, i miss the rain forest. we lived with my mother, a sandwing, and father, a nightwing. we live in that little community of nightings, but they dont mind. Queen Glory is quite nice to us, but probably because her best friend is also half nightwing..." he laughed, falling asleep.

A dragon that talked almost as much as her? Snippet loved him already too. She was usually much more cautious around 'father figures' but he seemed like a good dragon. Snippet was going to reply but saw him asleep and decided to respect his space. She had no idea what time is was as the cave was just dark. She turns back to Scorpio "That's your father? He seems pretty nice! He's nice to you right? And your powers! That's so cool that you can use them to talk!" She says excitedly, but she frowns and looks at Scorpio timidly. "Umm, could you not read my mind though please? It's not a fun place up there......." she trails off sheepishly. She had some dark memories, and she didn't want anyone else getting into those. Before her mother passed her life had been great, but she'd been so young it was hard to remember now.

scorpio smiled, then looked at the ground. she flashed her spots so that the cave-roof had huge letters, numbers and shapes illuminated on it. 'I love my father. He is very nice. Mother is not nice. Mother mean. Father only one that cares. Father my only true family.' she flashed. she then put her wing around snippet, then curled up under her fathers wing.

Snippet gasped in awe at Scorpio's light spots on the ceiling, reading the words as they appeared. "Oh, okay. I understand." She says, then curls up with Scorpio and Bravewing and falls asleep.

scorpio slowly thought over what her mother was. she wasnt a monster, monsters kill. but she wasnt a hero, heroes look after others and dont put themselves first. she was more of a.. villain. she did what she had to to get what she wants. (so, like, snippet now has to ask whats up, because she ponders this for a few hours.)
