OMG, I remember defending my Master's thesis. There was a scheduling error, NOT my fault, so I ended up having to defend it three separate times. When it was all over, I was a puddle of twanging nerves. Good Luck!

ACK! Crossing my fingers that won't happen with me. I've been so careful to harass the department about my scheduling and room availability multiple times. It should go smoothly from a technical standpoint, I hope... Thanks for the luck, I'll need it. Finished the last edits to my powerpoint presentation, so now it's just reading over the most important materials one last time and doing my best to commit the talk portion to memory so I don't have to be constantly referring to notes.

One of my professors told the story of a grad student who was so nervous, the committee decided to try to get him to relax. So they opened with a softball question.

The student's Master's thesis was about a study he had done on how human subjects' mental states affected each subject's galvanic skin response (GSR). Therefore, the lead professor asked him, "What is the galvanic skin response?"

This is a terrifically easy question for a psychology grad student to answer, let alone a student whose study made use of the GSR. However, the student was braced for a grueling defense, and the easy question threw him. He thought there must be some depth of meaning to the question, which he wasn't getting. He tried to answer, stammered, stuttered, desperately pondered what the professor might really mean by that, and then totally fell apart.

The story has a happy ending. After everyone took a break and pulled themselves together, the professor explained what he had been trying to do, the student explained what he had thought about the question, everyone had a laugh, and they started over.
